Great job Sir. Wish I would of watched your video before I installed mine. Turned out ok but the paper track was a great idea. I killed my back trying to hold up the unit to mark the holes. Definitely could of used another hand. And your display of the ratcheting sounds and tightening the tension was great. Manual was very confusing. Thanks.

Same here! However, the swivel part sometimes looses air and I need to replace the o-ring. Also, the red rubber is getting crumbly in certain areas.

Just do it, once I got an extension cord reel, I got reel fever. And needed more reels in my life. Next came the air hosereel, then the garden hose reel, then the pressure washer hose reel... now I’m in too deep in the reel game😬

I have to tell you. Coming into this, I didn't know a whole lot about air hose reels and air hose reel mounting systems. I've been procrastinating adding an air compressor system to my diy arsenal. Relevant content such as yours helps with beginning the process. I love Fiddle Faddle, but I haven't had it in a while. I did enjoy some Crunch and Munch from the Dollar Tree a few weeks ago. I have the same reel that Ive used for many many years. If you get a leak in the hose reel. I have a video on repairing it for just just the cost of an O-Ring

Great video, thanks..You answered my question as to how the hell I was going to install the top two lag screws into my mounting area. Should be fun using an open ended wrench up at 8 feet on a ladder! How has it held up for you otherwise? I was thinking about taking the existing hose out and replacing it with Flexzilla not sure how it will install until I take a better look at this thing. Thanks!

Glad it helped! I LOVE this thing. Oh-my, that would be the pits! once you get one slightly screwed in to take the weight off, makes it much better. My one gripe- where the feeder air hose attached to the reel on the side, the elbow sometimes leaks and I have to wiggle it to seat/seal better. I'd imagine a new O-ring may fix that.

It did not. I believe I used some 2" long and 1/2 diameter lag screws I had laying around.

I'm having trouble finding the right quick release fitting for outlet. I'm curious what you used for the outlet and the hose if they sell both of those at harbor freight.

Sorry Brent, I went back and checked the receipts harbor freight emailed me, but didn't have one for those. I remember now, had to make a second trip and hastily checked out not using my number.

Does it have any tension on it? If so, you may need to add more by carefully removing the black stopper, and adding a few "winds" if tension to it, put the stopper back on and test again. If there is no tension whatsoever, it sounds like something failed internally and you may need to contact Harbor Freight, and/or the manufacturer.

Good to know! It actually does have a leak where the brass elbow comes out. I usually just jiggle it until I don't hear hissing. I'd love to fix it for good, do you have a link to the video? Thank you!
