A centripetal force acts perpendicular to an object's velocity. A centripetal force causes an object to accelerate by changing direction and following a curved path. The centripetal force points towards the center of the curve, and the object's velocity is tangent to the curve. Centripetal force is not a type of force, but a role that can be played by different forces. Gravity acts as the centripetal force on orbiting objects.

Sir you teach concept very well, I wasn't able to understand centripital force from a long time. But today I got real feel of it. One request sir to please add the formulas and illustration problems of that particular concept. I am preparing for IIT Advanced 2025.
