This physics video tutorial explains how to solve many centripetal force problems that cover topics such as the tension force in a horizontal circle or the maximum speed of a ball that a rope can support without breaking. This video only contains examples and practice problems on uniform circular motion where the speed of an object is constant while traveling in a circle.

You must be using mastering physics or physics by cutnell. Let's give you super basic examples and then ask you really hard, random questions and tell you that whatever you do to one side of the equation, you have to do to the other while not telling you that you need to know how to do functions of functions and derivatives in the next. Also let's just go with the arbitrary rate of one chapter a week despite chapter 4 being 25 pages because the teacher, who you cant understand, can totally cover that much material in class in a week.

When we stand on a scale and see 140 pounds. Is it mass or weight of the person. We convert kilograms to pounds by multiplying by 2.2 to get weigh ourselves in pounds. Is it pound mass or pound force? I feel it is pound mass, am I right? I buy meat from grocery store and it gives the rate and net weight in pounds. Is it actually mass in pounds?

How did we come by the Formula Ac=mv^2/r ?
@carultch
@carultch 2 жыл бұрын
Set up a vector r to indicate the position as an object travels around a circle of radius R. Its coordinates are x=R*cos(theta) and y=R*sin(theta), where theta is the angle from the +x direction. We'd like to get the angle theta in terms of speed v and time t. It travels an arc length equal to v*t, and this arc length can convert to an angle in radians, by dividing by radius. Thus: theta = v*t/R Adjust our x and y values accordingly: x = R*cos(v*t/R) y = R*sin(v*t/R) Take the derivative to find the corresponding velocity components, vx and vy: vx = dx/dt vy = dy/dt vx = -R*sin(v*t/R) * v/R vy = R*cos(v*t/R) * v/R vx = -v*sin(v*t/R) vy = v*cos(v*t/R) Take the derivative again to get acceleration: ax = dax/dt ay = day/dt ax = -v*cos(v*t/R) * v/R ay = -v*sin(v*t/R) * v/R Simplify: ax = -v^2/R * cos(v*t/R) ay = -v^2/R * sin(v*t/R) Add up in Pythagorean theorem to get the magnitude of a: |a| = sqrt(ax^2 + ay^2) |a| = v^2/R*sqrt((-cos(v*t/R))^2 + (-sin(v*t/R))^2) The sqrt term equals 1, regardless of what v*t/R equals. Thus we have: |a| = v^2/R

On problem 4, you have a mistake. If x and y are at the same distance, then the gravitational force (ie centripetal force) will be the same. Asteroid Y simply can’t be in a circular orbit at the same distance but a different speed. Otherwise your videos are always fantastic and helpful!

I was going to watch this video about centripetal force to the end, but I've already found a flaw at 2 minutes in. Firstly, you said that the rope was a force. That's incorrect because it is actually the resistance to a force, centrifugal force to be exact. Secondly, you then moved onto orbits which can not be scientifically tested and there are no tests to prove anything can "orbit" using any unseen forces. Magnets can not be configured to orbit. No proof of orbiting is available or a centrifugal force. Thirdly, centripetal force is a false conception designed to confuse regurgitating ball Earth proponents because without it heliocenticity falls apart on its face. Google it, they sight tires and ropes as a force, hilarious balltarded dumb garbage is the lie of centripetal force. Centripetal force is actually resistance to centrifugal force, (a real force by the way) or in the case of fluid and gaseous funnels, the centrifugal pressure mediation. Obviously, flat Earth confirmed.
