Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor installation in Boksburg by Pottie.
20 Years of Centurion sliding gate motor installations across Gauteng has laid the foundation in how all types of sliding gate motors needs to be installed.
The experience gained over such a long period is priceless and all assists with the trouble shooting of problematic sliding gate motors.
This client in Boksburg Gauteng, found Pottie on KZbin, which led the customer to the website of Exquisite Security.
Client knew that he wanted Pottie to perform his new Centurion D6 Smart sliding gate motor installation.
Pottie did a site inspection, and client was advised, what routes needed to be followed in order, to have a trouble free, long life, always working Centurion Sliding gate motor.
Client agreed and a date was set down when the gate motor installation needed to be conducted.
The repairs:
1. The steel gate wheels needed to be serviced, by fitting new steel bearings into the 2x steel gate wheels. 2x new 6201RS 2 bearings were fitted into the steel gate wheels.
2. The steel gate track was rotten on the back end.
The old steel gate track was removed and a new steel gate track, consisting of 50x50x2mm square tubing was placed in the gate track.
the square tubing was secured by using 5x50mm steel flat bar, which was anchored with 8x75mm coach screws at 650mm intervals on both sides.
A 16mm steel round bar was welded on top of the square tubing where the steel gate wheels run on.
3. The old Hansa Delux gate motor was removed, along with the steel gate rail.
The steel base plate was extended in order to accommodate the new Centurion D6 Smart gate motor anti theft bracket.
The extending of the steel base plate was done by using a steel flat bar of 5x50mm.
The steel base plate was also secured with another steel coach screw, 10x90mm.
With the steel platform in place, the gate motor could be spot welded into position.
with all basis covered, the Centurion D6 Smart gate motor was welded down fully. The steel base/ platform was also painted to prevent rust from forming.
With the gate motor secured in place, Pottie proceeded to weld the steel gate rail in place.
Due to the steel gate weight, the support brackets were placed 450mm apart on the steel gate rail. The gate rail was also painted a rust preventing paint.
The gate motor power cable was also too short, and thus the electrical cable was extended via a all weather box.
The gate motor limits were set up via the my Centsys app.
The gate motor remote transmitters were also added to the gate motor via the my centsys app.
The site was handed over to the client, after all aspects were listed.
"Gate track cleaning, gate force checking, placing the gate motor onto manual, as well as in gear, what the beeping sounds from the gate motor meant etc."
a Centurion D6 Smart Steel anti theft bracket was also fitted to the gate motor. The installation of the gate motor system was such, that the gate motor anti theft bracket could be fitted and removed without any trouble by the client.
Due to bad light conditions, videos of the gate motor operating was poor.
Pottie returned to site, 3x weeks later and recorded videos in broad day light, to show how the Centurion D6 Smart gate motor operates this very heavy steel sliding gate.
From the videos, it is clear, that the new steel gate track is level.
