There is an easy way to do the light+jab punish.. Simply after a parry let your opponent fall and when is back is nearly touching the ground, you do light+charged jab.. It's also complex, but it's easier...

I appreciate this guide, but my god does Cent feel weird to use now. I'm so used to his faster heavies and his old confirms, not to say that I'm fond of his new mix-up game, but trying to initate any fight with his slower heavies or lights feel frustrating to say the least. Maybe I just need to view his playstyle a bit differently, I don't know.

Really late response but; I've never tried out cent yet but with his somewhat recent rework it sounds like taking a defensive approach is best and then punish when you find an opening, easier said than done though :p

I’ve been caught out so much by Cent screaming Incredibilis cause I think the opponent gonna actually punch but then they feint, I know it can be feinted but the voiceline tells me otherwise

I wish these sort of guides would include high level tactics including team game modes. Such as target switch tech, interrupting feint to gb mixups by using eagle's talon, etc.

A fun thing to note is centurion can target switch his kick and his eagle's talon by inputting dodge while facing one enemy, and then switch to the other enemy before inputting heavy/kick. Centurion can also target switch his full charged heavies (chain and opener) A fun tactic is to begin a neutral heavy charge at one enemy and switching targets just before centurion leaps forward for an instant attack. This tactic is similiar to what high level hitokiri and shugoki use.

I don't think you mentioned it, but if you get a guard break on an OOS opponent, then you can throw them to the ground, press (spam) the guard break input to throw out a legion kick which will kick them while they are down, and then do a fully charged unblockable heavy finisher which will stun them into the stab animation, and begin your mixup. You aren't guaranteed to get as much damage as eagles talon, but you only need to get 2 light attacks and then it will have been a better punish than just doing eagles talon and resetting their stamina right away.

Extra: there are three Jabs. 1- Quick After chains. When fient into GB, it comes out fast as it has shorter recovery frames 2-Prolonged none armor Jab. By holding Jab a little bit but not too long for the armor to come out. Negative is that recovery frame on Fient to GB is much slower. 3-FUll armor Jab so technically their are three mix ups for the Jabs with a vicious punish opportunity on each. FOr example, Jab 2, will catch and safely be able to block/ punish or react to opponent fast 400 MS lights

I just found out that OOS throw you can get a kick into charged heavy. The kick is fast enough and doesn't make the opponent get up early like a light would. So it looks like this: OOS throw>Kick>Charged heavy.

Cent is arguably better now but I still think his cutscene is overpowered in general. One early dodge and suddenly you’re on the floor with over a third of your health missing. Also, who decided to give CHARGEABLE heavies a soft feint into guard break? Cent has a punish for reacting to literally ANYTHING he throws.

Just thought I'd add Mege, the charged heavy off of wallsplat/parry counter splat is still occasionally useful because you can still go into jab mixup off of it, this is pretty useful if you're playing against somebody who is likely to be scared of being hit by charged jab, as you can easily start repeatedly wallsplatting them over and over again until they finally don't fall for the jab feint into GB, this is especially useful if the opponent is OOS as they're a lot more likely to be scared of what you might do. But yeah, generally going for eagles is the better option for pure guaranteed damage.

Well, the oos parry punish is a light into fully charged jab, yes, but delaying the light is much easier than delaying the jab. As soon as the opponent starts to fall, you initiate the light and than you go immediately into the fully charged jab. Timing wise it's much easier.

on the out of stamina front: i usualy dont go for eagles talon right away, simply because it restores stamina, so i usualy try to go for out of stamina pressure even when i could get the eagles tallon, sometimes i just put in the light and soft faint the charged heavy afterwards which usualy catches enemies that are out of stamina with either their dodge or their parry attempt and then go for eagles tallon, i usualy follow a simple rule of thumb: if my enemies "out of stamina bar" (ie he is about to get his stamina back) is higher then my stamina bar i go for the eagles tallon, if i have more stamina then my oponent while he is out of stamina then i put on oos pressure with light/uncharged jab mix ups for abit befor i try to get the eagles tallon again. sofar id say it works 60% of the time against opponents that are roughly equaly skilled meaning i get a couple of lights in and if timed PERFECTLY your eagles tallon will put you out of stamina while your opponent is just about to regain his stamina and then as soon as it lands it puts both of you back at full stamina basicaly since the move sets both you and your oponent back into full stamina when it lands i try to use it if my stamina is low and the enemies is high
