What’s so bizarre with the folks wrapped up in gender ideology is that they use circular definitions for everything: A woman is anyone identifies as a woman. A Lesbian is anyone who identifies as a lesbian. So, the result is basically that any labeling is meaningless, which is weird for people who obsessed with labels to begin with.

I trying to have a conversation with this people about gender / sex, in german we only have one word for this 2 words and its "Geschlecht". I am a biologist and trying to explain them what it means to be a man and a woman in biology. It was crazy how they trying to bring some arguments and how you say, they really only useing circular definitions. Woman is a person that get give birth. A man is a person that can impregnant a woman. The first argument was, some women cant give birth what is with this people? I go away and in my head i listen to tetrismusic. :D

For example, we could define a car as a motorized vehicle that drives along roads. And these people would then point to a junkyard and say "Those cars don't have engines and/or don't drive on roads. So are they not cars?" like they have no awareness of how those cars got to the junkyard. My response to the "what about women who can't give birth?" nonsense is to say "When a woman can't bear children, it's a tragedy. When a man can't bear children, it's a Tuesday."

Yes, I had a similar discussion recently. Even with a small Nuance you are bisexuell without ever having to "prove" IT and you can carry on exactly as before and using this Definition without being really "active". Everyone can define themselves as anything, terminology becomes meaningless

What she says about the people being young and with very little experience is so right. That’s what I notice most about the far left activists is that they are predominantly under 30. Their lived experience is extremely limited so I just can’t take their opinions seriously, as it’s highly probably they have formed those opinions based solely on what their peers believe or say. Most of us who had an opinion or belief at that age were probably very militant about it (for me it was being a vegetarian) but, like most people, I grew out of being so opinionated. I feel these people will too but the problem is the grown ups are actually making society altering decision's based on those misguided youthful opinions, just because they shout the loudest. It means when these kids HAVE outgrown those views, the legacy they have created has by then done untold damage.

except that back in the day when all the Ts wanted was to be accepted in their new either male or female category NO-ONE had an issue with it, and tbh most of the trans-people I've met over the years have simply wanted to pass as their new gender identity, it was about being 'accepted' and not discriminated against which was an aim we all worked to achieve. Its sadly moved from accept us to do as we say and change everything about what you believe, how you talk , what words mean etc and so long as you only accept our view of the world - which is not what the LGBT movement was about. Also this girl is wrong that there was a lot of trans people involved in the gay rights movement - it was started by men in the late 60s/early 70s and yes included drag artists (who are not trans by definition) and when I began to do the marches (there was no 'pride' event back then) in the 80s it was still only men and women on the marches. As for 'pride' events being inclusive and safe, when there are videos out there from recent pride events where lesbians have been asked to move aside by the police so as not to cause trouble, when the 'new' translobby literally fight with others on the marches and at the events, they are no longer either of those.

Prior to around 2005 there was gay or lesbian and sometimes Bi. The T only leeched itself to gay rights movement in the last couple of decades. When ENDA was originally proposed it was to protect gay men and lesbians from discrimination, but a few activist insisted on adding trans to the law which ended up failing by 1 vote in the Senate. Trans activist frequently claim that LGB people owe their rights to TWOC. We didn't gain equal rights because of the trans community, we gained those rights in spite of them.

I have been trying to understand these groups of people and the queer theory for some time now because I would like to be able to empathize with what ails them, however, I am always frustrated that I do not get their internal logic, frustrated and annoyed. It was hard for me to understand why it bothered me until one day I understood it, definitions are important because they give a sense of identity, on the one hand, and on the other hand, public policies can be created to specifically protect these vulnerable groups, now, if we are all and nothing at the same time, and definitions are individual, how do you get a data of vulnerable groups and create laws to protect them? It is not only naive but also extremely dangerous. These kids are living the honeys of the struggles of decades past and they are not being respectful of those who made sacrifices for the rights we all enjoy today.

Our work LGBTQ+ group had a gay man, a professor of gender and queer studies apparently introducing himself as a queer non binary lesbian man who only dated men, like just saying he was gay was somehow insufficient? There was a group of people called MOGAI which is an acronym for Marginalized Orientations, Gender Alignments, and Intersex, and it was meant for asexual/aromantic people, intersex people, people who are queer, and others. I believe gender dysphoria exists and is pretty shitty to deal with. Also I think some people transition by mistake and in my experience gender can connect to sexuality. I thought I might be a transman and then realised nope I am just not meeting expectations for a women by being queer. People should have therapy for this sort of thing, it’s too deep and complicated. Some kids in the Us seem to transition and actually they had trauma which is bad and hideous but doesn’t mean that trans and non binary doesn’t exist. Plus only 0.5 or percent of people are trans not exactly a threat to the world isn’t it?

It's a threat to the children who are being mutilated and given drugs that will change their body forever. It's a threat to women everywhere, when policies and laws are changed to include men in women's spaces. It's a threat to female sports when their records are broken by men and can never be reclaimed. Transsexuals have been part of society for a very long time, and (mostly) accepted and loved for who they are, but this horrible new activist cult is indeed dangerous ... just ask 'genuine' trans people like Buck Angel, Blaire White, Marcus Dib et al.

I wonder how much of this is a result of "participation trophy" culture, the whole culture of "self-esteem." Nobody wants to be wrong, because being wrong makes you feel foolish and outside the group consensus. Since the goal of self-esteem culture is for everyone to feel good about themselves all the time, no matter what, it becomes necessary to remove the possibility of being wrong. Hence, the need for "personal truth." I can define a lesbian as a woman sexually attracted to other women, they can define lesbian as a fluid, unbounded state of being that anyone can claim for any reason, and we're "both right."

This is where we went wrong as a society. We tell people, particularly victims, to speak their truth. Yes, there’s different and conflicting perspectives on circumstances, but the truth is not personalized. The truth doesn’t belong to anyone or anything. The truth just exists, and flowery language doesn’t change that. A lesbian will always be a female exclusively attracted to other females. Males cannot be lesbians, and lesbians aren’t defined as “non-men.” Even with the new lingo being pushed, the true definition of lesbian is reinforced by it.
