Watching this channel really has made me fall in love again with cars, I loved cars so much when I was a teenager, especially rally cars. Then I got married and had to have sensible stuff lol. And I thought KZbin was just full of people doing stuff with cars that was way out of my league, super cars bore me to tears, so to find this channel during lock down especially has been amazing. Keep up the great work mate.

Hi Pete. I am glad no sponges were abused in this film. I am not so keen on ceramics as I like to wax my car every six months I find it very theraputic. The next big thing in detailing is graphene it looks like that is the future. I have still to do my wheels off, arches wheels and calipers wash and wax for the winter but now that I am officially finished working I can schedule that any day. The forecast seems to improve later this week. Those wheels look better every time I see them.

Not long had the Stinger ceramic coated with a 5 year coat from Pyramid. It makes the car much easier to clean, easy to get it looking as good as the it is was coated. Amazing. However having the wheels coated as well it where im impressed the most. I'm sure they won't last 5 years, but I dot think I'll needs to use wheel cleaner on them for a long time. Everything just comes off with a good blast from the pressure washer and a light brush. So good.

I find these detailing videos quite therapeutic. Strangely, I've just spent 5 hours today detailing my 5 year old Sepang Blue RSQ3 getting it ready for winter. Of course it's not to the standard Ryan achieves, but it's come up like new. It was hard work and my 68 old body hurts all over, but a couple of Vodka Tonics is helping😉My final coating was Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine, a spray on wipe off, that I bought on a trip to the 'States last year. The product reviews on YT by pro detailers have been fantastic, it seems almost indestructible.....all for less than $10. Turtle Wax products have come a long way. The same product is available over here but Turtle Wax sell it under a different name....Turtle Wax Hybrid Hydrophobic Sealant Wax for around £10. Recommended for us "driveway detailers".

I think the best option to add protection to a wheel is indeed ceramic coating. However, it's not the best protection to add to a car body. Paint protection film is the best for a car body, especially those 8mm ones that come with 10 years++ warranty on yellowing and scratches. I had my car wrapped in one of those, it's been roughly 7 months since then, and the car shines incredibly and unbelievably scratch free. I really mean scratch free! Unfortunately, the folks at the shop advised me not to wrap those black pillars at the corner of the car, as he implied that these are "covered" with a thin black film and not actually painted. Therefore when it's time to remove the wrap after 10+ years the color would come off. Still, I had them wrap the front ones because I thought I would rather have them scratch free for 10+ years and then replace them after that than to have indefinite scratches for as long as I own the car (Because it's the front-end of the car and it's going to get scratched up indefinitely by dust particles). and I thought that I could get away with not wrapping the rear pillars by being careful with washing the car. However, the "paint" on those plastic pillars is just too soft and it got swirls all over.. Turns out I need the whole car wrapped with no exception on any part if I want it scratch-free. Because you never know when a body-shop or the dealer's maintenance team decide to give you a complimentary wash that's 7 light years behind in washing standards compared to your personal home wash. Because that's exactly what got my unwrapped body piece all swirled up, just 2 complimentary washes by the dealer was all it took. Even when I told them the 2nd time I took it in to not wash it. They're too clumsy to keep this in mind and just washed it just like they're used with every car that goes in for something at their facility. I just realized I wrote way too much for a KZbin comment. But whatever, I'll take it as English writing practice.

flow down of F1 to mid to top ends cars; (to be fair not worth it on most). My old team went with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra over most of the car, expect same with AM, but if applied incorrectly you will be wet sanding a whole panel of your priced possession ! Your JCW with them could cost you around £1k-1.5k so RPM prices seems reasonable. The F1 factor!

Aaaah...sponges. Now Peter, I am not 200 years old but I have been washing, polishing and maintains cars since I was 8 years old....and that was a long time ago and at the last count, 74 cars!! I know well that You Tube Experts who have learnt everything from Google and watching their friends videos mostly from the USA will all join in a chorus claiming a microfibre wash mitt is the finest device known to man and they will scoff at the sponge and all grin believing they know best. Well...the tale of “gritty sponges”...they ARE if you do not use them, properly and a wash mitt is 10 times worse!! The secret is gentle cleaning under running water with a quality car wash to lift and clear the road grit. Plenty of water, turn the sponge over at every dunk in the bucket, use several sponges with the cleanest on the roof and then work downwards using different sponges until reaching the wheels. If you get grit on them, you are not using them properly. Now a mitt...attracts grit like a magnet and is vastly more difficult to rinse properly. I like microfibre for drying but not for washing!! Also..every time is see a “detailer” at work, they squirt water from a pressure washer directly at the paint surface...WRONG....you use GENTLE pressure directed along the panels not AT a them! Then.cleaning wheels..clattering about with a hard plastic brush is much worse than a soft, microfibre covered solid foam brush! Everything I do is gentle, plenty of water, warm for the wash sequence. Pre soak, wash, foam, wash again, rinse well then carefully dry using different cloths at each stage which are then hand washed after every use! Car valeting has many myths and a great deal of hot air and showmanship! Your man was good...but a lot are trading on blather and not much knowledge! I shall now shut up..I have many cars to clean from Thursday..no MITTS allowed!!! 😨😃😃😃😃😃Safe driving as always! Richard.😃😃😃

So, about wheel cleaners. I had a bad experience with them ever since I used one (Very famous brand, not a knock off) on my black rims, and it gave them overall purple hue and patchy harsh purple spots. They're permanent. As I took the wheels to a shop and they told me the only way to fix it is to strip it and then repaint it. Can anybody explain why that happened to me? because all the car detailers on KZbin are using wheel cleaners and they're not reporting anything like I had experienced. Btw, I used the product exactly as specified on the product's instructions.
