That ceramic tint might make a slight difference when driving with the ac on...but if you leave a car parked all day(like at work)regular or ceramic tint won't make a difference being the heat will have reached it peak inside...especially in Texas parked more than 2 hrs no difference
@Billy123bobzzz6 жыл бұрын
This is an excellent way to demonstrate the relative difference between tints. It doesn't matter if the heat lamp was an inch further or closer away from the window between the two tests, what matters is the relative difference between the tints. The ceramic tint was ten times better than the conventional tint. That is a massive difference and moving it one inch further or closer away probably only changed it to be 9.99999999999999999 times better, which is just not possible to feel, so effectively this test/demonstration was done properly. Thank you!

you would be right except you can see they switch the heat lamp to lower intensity around 1:49 or so... Which I can almost guarantee they did when shining it through the ceramic tint. if it was only the distance it wouldn't be a big difference but its the intensity of the heat coming out of the lamp coupled with the distance.. "I can tell you know your stuff!" Sounds like a typical salesman kissing ass. Hey Texas tint masters how about you make a REAL video showing the actual difference between the tints? show us your using the same settings on the lamp for the same duration of time etc, same distance, etc and stop acting like the people calling your bullshit video are haters???

Ceramic tint is expensive, but it really does work. If you're used to driving a car with it, you'll immediately notice a huge difference when you drive or ride in a car that doesn't. And the benefits are two-fold, as it protects your skin and also the interior. The dash and leather on my 2013 Ford Fusion still looks and feels like new. But make sure you get it from a legit shop. Mine came with a lifetime warranty, so if it ever starts to bubble or crack, I get it replaced for free.

I can support this about ceramic tint. Here in Illinois the legal limit is 35% VLT all around. I ended up getting Huper Optik Ceramic 40% VLT just to stay on the safe side of legal. Combine this with a sunshade for the hottest days while parked and the car stays very nice with just the sunroof cracked.

That was the reason ceramics came about to solve that problem which metal based films had. I have a 2000 BMW 528i (E39) and let me tell you I wish this thing had a UV blocking tint installed before I got it. Every piece of trim in this car snaps and Preakness if you just look at it. A polarized effect would be a dead giveaway but it's pretty subtle in the right lighting conditions. I also remember wearing a certain type of sunglasses and could see the polarized tint effect from inside and outside the car. Another way is to take a heat lamp on the exterior of the window and have a heat meter on the interior. If its really ceramic then then reading on the heat meter should be significantly less than the heat lamp.

The difference between regular tint and ceramic tint is the regular only filters out the light and the ceramic filters out the light and UV RAYS , it's the uv Ray's that causes the heat. So regardless of how he held the light. Ceramic tint is just better. My 17 shadow black mustang gt would get up to around 140° with the premium regular tint. I changed to ceramic tint last weekend (July 4 weekend) now it only gets up to 105-110. Sitting in the sun all day. HUGE DIFFERENCE

hey carlos! any chance you remember what watt heat bulb you were using? I’m gonna test what these guys just did on my car, I think they upsold me ceramic but gave me the regular garbage! thx 🙏🏼

Can you get clear ceramic tint for the windshield just for the heat rejection it should offer? I would think the windshield due to it's size and angle would be one of the biggest areas of heat penetration?

I want to know this too. So I can add it to the front windshield without impeding the visibility.

I got window tinted on my 05 f350. The place I took it to, I do a lot of business with them. Before tinting my window, it was definitely hot in the truck during the summer time. When I was talking to them about it, they said ceramic tint would help block some of the heat out but not all (which I understand). I did the 35% up front door windows and 5 on back. and a clear on the windshield. having it during the summer, frankly I'm not sure what they put on. Sure doesn't feel like its ceramic because it feels like its even hotter in the truck. I can feel most of the heat coming off of the window. I do have a some what of a dark truck. Its a greyish color on the exterior, and tan on the interior. I touch the headliner thinking most of the heat might be coming from there, but its not burning hot. It might sound like I got screwed. I wish you guys are closer to the DFW area. would like to test to see if I did got screwed or not.

Hmm, that's not good. The glass will get hot no matter what but the difference is in the heat TRANSMITTED through. Once your inside and your A/C is on, you shouldn't feel the heat coming through and your truck should cool down quickly (if your A/C works good). Especially if you tinted your windshield, the cold air should preserve more if it is indeed Ceramic Tint. You'd be surprised how many shops that carry Ceramic tint are not equipped with the proper gear to prove to the customer they installed Ceramic. Next time you're in the market for it, ask a shop if they can prove it's Ceramic once it's installed. If they can't, look elsewhere. Most of our top reviews came from our Ceramic customers. The real thing makes a huge difference.

Main thing, make sure your A/C is working well too. The cooling unit is just as important as the Ceramic Tint on your glass. The tint drastically REDUCES the heat coming through the glass while the A/C is what COUNTERS the heat. Both are necessary for a cool cab. 👍

My a/c does blow extremely cold air. it takes awhile to feel the cold air due to when the truck sit out in the sun for a long period of time, it gets extremely hot. even with my "ceramic tint" i have. but I can sill feel some heat transfer coming from the window. I don't know if the material of the glass makes a difference for example, I also have a 2010 f150, never done tint and when it sit out in the sun as well for a long period of time, you can still get in it and its not terribly hot. So that is another thing is that wonder the material and from the manufacturer if they were able to make something better to cut the heat than an older vehicle. Before watching this video, I went to another place where they do window tinting and also have ceramic tint. they had a tester where part of the glass is no tint and the other half is the ceramic tint. Now keep in mind, when I saw the test, the glass was quite thick compare to what you see on an automotive. to my guess around 3/16" to maybe 1/4" thick. when I stuck my hand in the tester, I can feel the hot lamp, when they slid the glass over with the tint, the heat reduce dramatically. But i'm not sure if it was the thickness of the glass and the tint or just the tint itself. also, I saw another video of you tinting an audi and when you were tinting the windshield, it looks like you were putting a film on the outside. so do you sandwich the tint on the windshield to help reduce the heat?
@TexasTintMasters6 жыл бұрын
@@jasonman1515 jasonman1515 For demos, shops use a thick glass to prevent it from cracking when doing the heat lamp demo. On the Audi: Everything with the tint gets done on the outside, the shrinking/molding and prep. The actual install goes on the inside of the glass. Even if the glass is a bit different you shouldn't feel much heat coming through with Ceramic Tint. For example, our Clear Ceramic reduces 65% of heat and the darkest (limo) reduces 89%. Try contacting them and let them know what's going on. Ask if they can show/prove to you that it's Ceramic on your glass. Let me know how it goes, genuinely interested.

One last thing. Which ceramic material do you use particularly? the tint on my window has a sticker from a brand called LLumar.
@michaelrobinson96435 жыл бұрын
of course the stable heat that car reaches will be the same. Tint doesn't impact that. Radiated heat exposure when in the car you can change.
@TexasTintMasters5 жыл бұрын
Good point! I've noticed it takes longer for it to get to peak temperature especially if the car is coming off a cooled cab when it's tinted. But you just hit on one of the biggest misconceptions people have about ceramic tint-that it prevents your car from getting hot when it sits out alone in the sun for hours. When there is nothing to combat the heat, it is STILL going to get hot. It's only until someone gets in and turns on the A/C will the cab cool down. In this case Ceramic Tint acts as a barrier between the solar heat outside and A/C cooled inside preserving the cooler interior temps.

After installing on the windshield - will it cause an issue for cellphone suction mounted brackets. My 📱 iPhone dashcam overheats. Or should I get a ceramic strip only?
@TexasTintMasters6 жыл бұрын
Get the entire windshield-your best bet. It doesn't affect receptions or suction cups. This would be an interesting experiment to test your dashcam over heating before and after installing the tint. You should record & upload and let us know your results!

How can I tell if I actually have ceramic tint and not regular tint? I have not way to contrast the temp in the car now vs. what it was before the tint. Is there a simple way a novice without the special heat indicating film can do to test for ceramic tint? (Just checking up on my installer)

What is your take on LLumar CTX from a scale of 1 to 10 what would you rate it, im in california got the Ctx 5% on my 5 windows on my 2018 civic sedan 2 weeks ago was that a good choice for the heat or did i mess up?...

On my last 2 cars with ceramic tint, when wearing polarized sunglasses it wacked out the colors outside, white cars looked pink, and flowers were psychedelic. With my current ceramic tint that's not happening. Is this a sign that I didn't get ceramic, or could it be a different type?
