I’m personally getting really tired of KZbinr’s/influencers just being paid advertisers now!! What happened to them getting into it for their creative side. I know it doesn’t exist anymore. I reckon the question they ask themselves each morning when they wake up is, what can I get for free today!! 🤦♂️

100%. First it was the crux that was the best and could ‘do it all’…then the Aspero….and now this one. Through it all, kept up the cringe vibe in all the videos.

I've had my Fray for about a month and I love it. My dirt has been light so far as I'm running a 29/31 tire setup, but plan to get a second wheelset with 35-38mm light gravel. The Fray replaces a previous "all road" bike and I too find myself choosing that bike or bike category as my first choice more and more, even if I think I'm going to be on the road. I love taking it to Tahoe, doing long road rides for myself, then a little trail riding with my son, all on one bike. The MTBers all seemed impressed at what one I do on a pair of 32mm slick gravel kings, like running the Flume Trail there. I look forward to seeing what else you do on your Fray, I think it is the future of road bikes for those of us who don't race anymore, but still want that zippy speed of a race but with a bit more comfort and tire dable in dirt or drop into a road pothole.

Nice, had the same idea to build a crux used as a fast road/light gravel bike. The build should have ultegra 12s, rapide cockpit and enve 4.5 wheels with 40mm hutchinson caracal tyres. However without all those ceramicspeed upgrades that are too expensive for the gain they offer and maintenance they require

700 bucks for OSPW is diabolical 🤡
@carlosflanders5183 ай бұрын
Bro logic. Pay more means you can feel the speed. Utter twaddle. Bearing ball material is about 10-20% of drag. Ceramic reduces this by a few %. Minimal seals and very light grease make far more difference and ensure lower lifetime and increased maintenance.

How would you rate this compared to the Colnago c68 gravel? Similar tyre clearance.
@outdoorbros_3 ай бұрын
Little bit less tire clearance with the Fray and the C68 felt a little more tuned for gravel.

For the price of all those components I’d willingly lose those 10 watts and put the money towards another bike. 10 watts is nothing unless you’re racing.

I'll stick with Nova Ride products for less than 1/2 cost of CS. Same 4 warranty and made in France. Those along with a waxed chain are slick. Oh, check out the upcoming Fifty One bikes SIKA.

I have a 23 Crux. Haven’t rode it much lately, as I have 3 other road bikes. Have about 3k on the Crux since building it but only 50mi gravel. Like the idea of have a Gravel bike in the stable but it’s not getting used. Was supposed to do Unbound 200 didn’t happen. Planning for next years. Was thinking about letting it go to build up a Fray as dual purpose. Hoping it’s faster on-road than the Crux. But would I lose a lot off-road? What are you thoughts?
@OnThePeriphery2 ай бұрын
I like this channel, but maybe I’m a damn weirdo…I had a $ gravel bike for a year and just didn’t get the appeal of it or the idea of a do-it-all bike. I just recently had a Melee built, and the thought of modifying it for gravel or trying to make a Fray faster on the road seems even more silly. Going slower, getting dirtier, and being anxious about laying a five-figure carbon bike down on loose rocks? Don’t get it. And not once while riding fast on roads do i ever think, “I wish I could explore some light gravel right about now.”

I'm very interested in the Fray and need some guidance here. I have a Cervelo Aspero that's been my all around bike for 2 years, but I recently snagged a Time ADHX 45 and built it up as a mullet for gravel duty. It's awesome and does everything I need there. I also have a Tarmac SL7 that I built up for road, but I find that I don't ride it as much as the gravel bike. I'm thinking of selling the Tarmac and the Aspero to build up a 2x Fray build that can replace both and handle some gravel and road. From your video this seems like the Fray is perfect for this, but I'm curious how close it gets to replacing the Tarmac or slotting in to handle gravel like the Aspero? Thanks!
@cb46023 ай бұрын
I had an Aspero 5 grx 2x and Replace my Factor Ostro with Enve Fray. Not much difference between Aspero and Fray running the same wheels. Biggest difference in Factor vs Fray is geo. Factor is faster especially at speed mainly do to lower stack.
