It seems to me to be a allegory. Man came from a humble beginning, living in the wild. Over time man changed their diet and this caused self awareness. This awareness brought death. Because until Christianity can agree on what the Bible says, I have no use for anyone's interpretation but my own. And it is amazing how a perfect god could inspire scripture that can be interpreted in such varied and sometimes conflicting ways. Even if you could somehow get everyone on the planet to agree on your interpretation, so what? What reason do I have to believe that ANY of it is actually true?
