you know it’s wild, like even 2 years ago or so we’d have said $0.50/switch was cheaper with so many switches at the $0.65 /switch price point, but now, there are so many great factory lubed options from HMX at like $0.35-$0.40 a pop, it almost feels spendy. At this point, I’ve lost track of my switch (and almost board) collection, so I’m not going to stress $0.10-$0.15 / switch, but it’s just wild how quickly this hobby evolves.

@@nowaybernie pretty controversial take these days, what switches do you prefer? I’ll admit I only have 3 batches of HMX switches in hand, but I’d say I’m pretty impressed at the quality of the factory lubing relative to the amount of time and effort it takes to hand lube switches (which I’ve done with nearly every other batch of switches I’ve purchased).

If you're tried, how would you compare the Hojicha to the Boba U4T?

Do you still frankenswitch much? Would love to see a 2024 video of your faves at this point if you are still into that part of the hobby.

I feel like tactiles need more love/innovation. Manus have been making great stock linears, but tactiles are usually still super lacking without a good amount of work.

Hey! Is the Tofulove r2 available anywhere?

it is not... maybe yet

I tried the Hojicha Reserve myself, and while they were super smooth and sounded great the initial actuation force was way too stiff for me. It's far more like 60g than the listed 46g. Thermamingoat's force graphs are pretty spot on and I should have paid better attention to them. Nice switches but also just not what I was looking for. Spring swapping is an option but something I'm not interested in doing. It was incredibly tedious when I did it to 90 Durock Shrimp T1's.

@@Gridlynk you know what… that actually makes a lot of sense as to why these feel “heavier”, I just thought it was my weak ass fingers but if the actuation is closer to 60 that checks out 👀 Ty for the report!! It’s much appreciated!!

what is the purpose of a sound test on 2 boards more than likely not owned by most people? especially with how drastic a board can change sound one way or the other.
@TofuTypes17 күн бұрын
to provide some sort of reference for sound test. Changing the direction of the mic/distance/amount of deskmats/ how humid my room is all plays a factor in a sound test. I could grab like a frog mini from the shelf and throw them in and it would maybe sound like 70% of the average person who also had a similar build. I get you tho sounds test aren't helpful in general but are just there to provide a frame of reference for how it could sound LOL
