I got a lot of help when it came to this amp and I'm pretty proud of it. I'm by NO means an authority but I'd like to pay forward whatever I can, so if you have any questions about this, working with CeriaTone or amp stuff in general, feel free to message me!

I love the tone of every Ceriatone amp I have EVER heard. Call me a fan for life. They really put a LOT of care into every build.

@@user-wf4nl2yy8x I ran a studio in North Carolina. And we owned an Overtone Special 100 head with the built in attenuator option. Of all of various 'D' clones I've ever heard, it was definitely the best. Guys used to come in for a session, plug in and play on it once, and just HAD to record with it. If an amp is so good that guitarists come in cold, hear it, and want to record with it...then you know it's magic. I played in a country/rock band with a guy for years who had the 50 watt version of the OTS. And it sounded amazing every single gig. Tone for days.

The amp sounds Incredible!!! If you wanna try some great Marshall Style tubes when you replace your tubes. Try the Reissued Mullard EL34's and the Mullard Long plate 12AX7's!! They give you that natural Old School Marshall Growl!!!

Same problem as me: You are a tall guy and a gibson is like a toy in your hands... Your amp is great, the tone is amazing (even if your "room sound" is killing it)

It sounds more like one of the later jcm800s to me. More like a 2210 than a jubilee to me. Either way great sounding amp. It could be that is just the way you dialee it in. Since you have that bright switch and other mods it could give you the flexibility to sound like a jubilee or 2210.

Played through a Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee the other day. It was running through a closed back 2X12 with what I believe was a Vintage 30 & Greenback, it sounded phenomenal. However it was like $2000, WAY MORE $ than I'd ever pay for a 20 W amp. Marshall did a really great job with the JCM 800's, especially considering it gets its distortion by essentially hardwiring a distortion pedal in the circuit. They didn't do nearly as good a job with their next attempt, the 900.

I just built the Ceritone 2525 kit and was like $870 shipped and included everything. Killer deal. You're right the Marshall is not worth $2k. I just picked up the SC20H like new on FB marketplace for $1k. Now that is more in line. But now that my Ceritone 2525 is done I want to sell the Marshall. Not even close to the killer tone the 2525 has.

@@joemusicman64 I forgot about this post. Since then I must have had easily over two dozen amps (and im referring to my own personal amps, not other people's pass in and out of my ownership. I have been building, modifying and servicing amps for twenty years now, and without hesitation I would advise anyone who's looking to buy certain amps models, especially production level (non- Custom Shop) reissues is classic vintage amps like Plexis, JTM 45s, Fender Blackface, etc would be doing themselves a huge favor by eschewing the actual Marshall for certain clones, especially Ceriatone. For one thing, most of the Reissues are PCB whereas the Ceriatone are all hand wired point to point circuits. Even if you're one that thinks there's no difference between them, or more precisely are under the false impression that there's no difference, which as someone who's worked on thousands of amps I can assure people that there are differences that I can lay out if anyone is curious) and even if for the sake of argument we assumed that there is no difference in how the signal travels from one components to rest, the components themselves are nowhere near the quality of what were used in the original amp model they're reissuing or the Ceriatone. Just one look at the OT and you can see it. With those older amps everything was overbuilt including the transformer. I'm sure that the OT in the reissues will do the job satisfactorily, but the bigger one is going to increase the performance and yield a more responsive response to playing. I take pride in wiring up the amp as meticulously as possible. Every flying lead and hook-up wire is cut as to have as little excess length as possible. Whereas with the mass produced amps, they will install a control pot and with The less wire, the less the signal loses it's drive level by the capacitance that happens as the signal travels through the wire to The next component. But the Ceriatone is typically half the price of the really amp, between the point to point wiring (meaning instead of using wire or the conductive trace on a PCB, each components is physically wired to the next. This maintains the signal integrity, greatly reduces hum and noise and makes them far easier to be repaired or modified. However with that being said, over the seven years I posted, I had ended up building the Ceriatone, one of over a dozen I did since Covid, and using it for a couple years, I bought a Marshall 2525 jubilee. I wasn't looking to buy one, but I was offered it in trade to repair a guitar that they couldn't afford to pay for the whole repair (one of the fringe benefits to repairing guitars and amps is that insane offers to buy or trade really good gear for much less than your find with a year of constantly searching online. The two benefits to the Marshall that killed the Ceriatone for me was: 1) the user of Full sized EL34s instead of the EL84 and 6V6s. The difference is dramatic. Even though it's a small watt amp, the power section has that big fat bottom end that you don't ever get with 6V6 and 3L84s. And 2) I haven't really looked into how the amp was built, so I'm not sure why it's like this, but their power scaling is hands down the best power attenuating system that I've used in any other amps I've ever played. Normal when you cut the power you have to go back and dial the amp back in to get it to sound like it did when you were playing it at full hour. Even when you get the EQ matched, the amp still feels completely different. It has more sag and compression and loses the tie response that amp should have. With Marshall literally the only thing that seems to change is the output volume. You don't have to reset everything on the app, and it stays just as tight sounding as it did at full power. These two were the deciding factor to stay with the Marshall. Side note, my comment about how no 20W amp is worth $2000, a lot had changed in seven years. I've played serval $2000+ amps that were worth all that money. The two that come to mind is the Amplified Nation 22W Overdrive Reverb, or really any of AN's Dumble clones and D- Style models. The other is the new Soldano SLO 20.

Woawww !!! Very nice tone !!! Did you use just the canal lead of the amp for the distortion or another pedal ?

Amazing tone! Is that straight through the amp or are you running anything on the pedal board?

Thanks! I have a 6-band eq pedal I use for a vol/lead boost to bumps the mids a bit. I think I kicked it on somewhere in the video and you could hear the difference but it doesn't color the tone that much and for most of it I think I had it off. I also have the green 808 drive clone on my board (I just checked the video and I did hit it at like 3.20, but I also had it off most of the time too to show the amp's tone) I typically leave the amp on the lead channel on the brightest setting and use Joe B's jube settings as a baseline.

Biggest misconception about these amps is the blanket term "amp gets its distortion from diode clipping"....ONLY on the Rhythm Clip Channel. Lead Channel is all tube.

definitely a darker sounding amp, I've owned an actual Marshall 15 years ago, and a Ceriatone for the last 5. it's the only full size amp I've owned in the last several years (as in NOT a lunchbox, class A amp) that's a 212 combo, all others are separate heads. While all my other amps work equally as well as each other with Greenbacks/ Alnico Gold's, etc, the Jubilee needs Vintage 30s. The V30s are just too bright with the other amps.

Oops, forgot to mention; I played this though a friend's 212 can with a pair of Eminence EJ1240 Alnico magnet speakers, and LOVED it. I have a 112 with the EJ1250 in it, the 1240s are NOT just a lower wattage version of the 1250s. the 1240 is voiced to work best with modern type amps (Boogies, Budda, etc). the 1250s with Vintage type. I them with my Fender, Dumble & mod'd Plexi/JMP clones.

Aun conservas tu Ceriatone jubilee?...
