Nice tone. The cab is very important here. This Bogner gives some warm and woody tone to the sound. I use this cab with the Soldano SLO100. One of the best cab ever.

How is your tone different through the SLO100 cab, TOOM?
@toom6087
@toom6087 2 жыл бұрын
@@stoicscorpio3838 The Bogner 412 loaded with V30 sounds woody and warm. This is perfect with Plexi and SLO, amps with extra bite. The Soldano 4x12 cab (the one atm in production) gives tons of mids : good for a kind of clean and lead guitar, bad for fat riffs. With the Bogner it's balanced. Don't use the Bogner cab with Dual Rectifier 2 channels from the 90's for example : it's going to be muddy. An Engl cab is better here : it's more sharpened. The Bogner cab is good with the Rectifiers multi-watts witch are no more the same amps at all (tighter low end). If you want to go doom and stoner, Matamp or Orange cabs are better (mid scoop) with every heads, not for soloing but rhythms. With something else than the V30, my favorite cabs are the Friedman. The one loaded with Greenback is very good for classic rock (perfect for the channel 2 of a Diezel VH4). The Friedman with Heritage sounds dark for beautiful deep cleans. Tested in Ampete 444. What we are talking here is equalization, not a question of tastes. The good point with the Bogner : if your Soldano head is a boa skin one, you can order a Bogner cab with a matched cover. I own 10 cabs, all 4x12, so I had days to test. The Bogner cab is beautiful for the clean because I engage the bright of the SLO. It's hot for the riffs, and huge for solos. You can play everything with this combo. But depends your style of course. My goal was to get a 90's tone between Corrosion of Conformity and Megadeth for the riffs. George Lynch, Zakk Wylde and Van Halen for the leads. Maybe not your cup of tea...

@@lordgraga I love it! It’s my main band practice amp (I’m using my Peavey 3120 for gigs because there’s no way I bring this piece of art at a show in case something happens to it lol Took almost a year to receive it!). Sometimes I have options paralysis because of all the switches and stuff(it’s not a plug and play type of amp) but it sounds phenomenal overall. The price is really “cheap” for what you get. I highly recommend if you’re keen on waiting. It’s very versatile and that’s what I love about it because it doesn’t do just one sound. It can be a tight trash punk metal amp as it can do soft rock, doom, etc

Awesome video of an awesome amp! I just watched a video by an older English gentleman named Tony McKenzie and he showed and went through the guts of one of these. Incredible! How an amp should be made. How in the world Nik can offer a quality amp like this at those prices is beyond me. I love my EVH 5150 III 50 watt and I was considering the Stealth model. But for something different, I WILL be ordering a Ceriatone Chupacabra. Think I’ll go for the 100 watt because......why not?!

Cool very dynamic amplifier with own character. But for example, compared to JCM800, it is quite dark. And the point here is not the lack of high or medium frequencies, but the nature of the amplifier is dark. You change the frequency with switches, but the darkness doesn't go anywhere. Just changing frequencies on the "dark" side. By the way, only then, with additional listening on other channels and especially on this, I clearly heard this. In general, when choosing in its direction, this must be taken into account. Good luck to everyone. What do you thinck about it Kyle ?
@belligerentamateur
@belligerentamateur 3 жыл бұрын
I think you kind of nailed it. It's a dark amp that has frequencies in the right places to cut through. Overall, the general voicing seems more Mesa than Marshall, but it has it's own thing going on. I liked it the least on the gain switch I spent the most time on, go figure.
@irinairina-lu1yr

@@belligerentamateur Recently, I just finished building my amplifier according to the Niks scheme, but with little differences. I agree with you there are something gloomy like Mesas do. But at the same time with the Marshall character of overload. In terms of frequencies, everythings fine. I only meant that during the movement of the middle and highs (on my amplifiers at least) their magnitude changes, as it should be, but the nature of the "gloom" of this machine does not change. Moreover, for certain tasks it is very cool fiture. Just now I want to change this picture a little bit. I plan to make the sound of mine a little more open and "bright" . Overall the amp is just great . By the way, the sound of this amplifier on your channel turned out to be the most honest on my taste.

I used to have a Ceriatone JCM800 and its the best amp I've ever owned. I played it with a Marshall 4x12 loaded with greenbacks and it sounded massive.. Ended up trading it for a 6505 and a Single Rectifier and I've regretted it ever since.

@@belligerentamateurthe website says the chupa is tighter, you don't find this to be the case? Hard to believe any marshall clone can be even tighter than this one.

Are you SURE nothing is ON?? Sounds and looks like the MXR OD and ISP Deciminator are ON to me!! :O

I am SURE that the DECIMATOR is ON but it does NOT color the SOUND. The MXR OD is absolutely not ON, it just has a BUMP knob that is LIT whether the drive is ON or NOT. I am SURE you will have SOMETHING to SAY regardless of this REPLY though :0

Couldn't you at least spend two percent of your time proving it had a clean sound instead of slamming it with a sledgehammer for the whole fifteen minutes, you know, just for the hell of it? Sheez, that was ridiculous.

I don’t think the intend of this amp was really to ever have it clean in the first place. With an amp with 2 gain controls it should be obvious. You’d be better off checking out the overtone series

@@Zoso7227 Every amp has a clean. It's just a matter of how good it is and how loud it is.
