CCNA is worth it for one reason, it doubles your salary. They teach you the Cisco way of course but you have to be good at your craft to pass so you will have no problem applying that to other brands if you need to. Fun fact time, Juniper was created from some ex-cisco engineers so most of us prefer their kit as it's easier and fixes what we dislike in ios however do note the client picks the brand most of the time unless you get really lucky and have one that listens to you in the planning stage.

Last year I was looking to fill a vacant on my team on a big IT company, and it was a painful experience. I stopped reading the CV, couldn't care less about their certifications or where they studied, it's bollocks. I have a set of questions, scenarios, exercises and problems they must solve live. I ended hiring a 24 years old kid with no pro experience and not even a degree, who did much better than all the other dudes with fat CV and lots of certs. Best hiring I did, dude is a rockstar.

Man, where can I find someone like you? I.T certifications and the current line of recruiters are garbage... only justified because it "gets your foot through the door," even though everyone including their grandmother has it for the position 😂😂

So in the end you totally contradicted yourself. They do help you get hired, so there not useless at all. If companies want it and you can make a good salary then go for it. I would like to add that I do believe certs can be overrated. Certainly you can learn more on the job and certs would have no benefit. Problem is convincing a company to hire you without the cert.

The copium from people who get certifications and how much they swear by them.. guarantee if you found a framework of things you needed to know and the resources to know them and some project ideas.. you'd be in a lot better situation.
