This is so helpful! I've been working on going back to school to become a PA and had personally never heard of the CAA profession until today. Now I'm torn. I thought I was set on becoming a PA, but the CAA route is incredibly tempting. I'll need to do more research first, but I may be changing my plans.

This is fantastic and if I had even known about it as an option, I would have done it 20 years ago. Mid 40s would maybe not be with it to start this. 6 years of school, 52 years old, $200k in student loans, i would have 15 years to make money. Is it worth it? Can I work and go to school or is school too demanding?

I'm 48 and considering this. Yes, it's still worth it at your age. I mean, what's the alternative? Even at 52, take 2 years to live frugally and pay the loans off while maxing out your 401k and ira. Then once loans are paid off just save and invest . When you turn 60, after 8 years of banking the salary you'll be a multimillionaire. The way I think of it is the years are going to pass no matter what. Do I want to spend the next 5 to 10 years in my current situation and hoping for the best or do I want to alien's that time optimizing my situation in a high paying job? I'm seriously considering this career pivot. It's going to shake up my entire life but the feeling that it will be worth it is so strong. Good luck.
