Great acting by Mahesh. It's a harsh reality in Corporate world. Steve Jobs once said that one should have an attitude that live each day as though it were a last day. Guys go for working for yourself not for orhers.... I was thrown out in 2013 from company 1 and thrown out again in 2014. End 2014 I started my own partnership firm in erp support and implementation. 1st 1.5 years i struggled financially but its been 9 years into my own work. Now coming back to the topic, US and Europe economies are getting destroyed not even recession but going through dippression. So there will be job layoffs. There will be no major economies left other than Bharat, Russia and UAE. Work will be either self employment or entreprenuership model. Focus on IT Tech related to Manufacturing, Agriculture, Defence and Space. Else if you have farm lands as anceatral property go for farming Agriculture which is going to boom like anything from 2025 onwards.

A few years before, on the layoff day, I was on sick leave. Next day, I was searching for my friend to have a breakfast but she was not there. When I asked people about her, no one had replied instead starred at me. Later, I heard that she was analysing the performance report to present in the call and was called to the our Manager's room, then Security guard escorted her. Days passed by, the next year, the same Manager saw a few guards in front of the CEO's room and asked the Admin that, was there any lay off planned that she was not aware off. The admin couldn't reply to her, because, the same Manager was in the layoff lists. Through this video, you brought up the whole scene in front me, the situation they both were. Anyways, today, My friend who was a junior to me on that day, is a manager in another organization. And, that Manager is the CEO is some organization.

We always fail to realise that the position we are was once someone else's and tomorrow will be filled by someone else. In life there are many roles that cannot substitute you - being son/daughter, being a husband/wife, brother/sister, being a Father/Mother to your kids...

I did not imagine a sad episode like this from certified rascals. Coincidentally, I was laid off for the first time in my career last week, 20 years and was a director IT until last week. There are slim chances of even an other job at my paygrade. Heart wrenching. Mahesh/ Sudhir went above and beyond acting!

See I had expected some solution as well for these kind of unforeseen circumstances in the corporate world. 1.I wish no one should get fired but nothing is permanent so in case of these unexpected circumstances you should first ask the time that you are left with. 2.No amount of negotiations would work as the mgmnt would have already decided to throw you under the bus. 3.Request for the appreciation mails that you would have received in the past again depending on the rapport Many org would have severance package So you may negotiate about the severance package (Provided you have performed well and you have good track record) 4.Be strong its not end of world. 5.if you stress it erases potential opportunities. Went thru a similar situation in 2015... But guess I was lucky that I did not have these commitments in hand, as each member of my family had a job. They were able to chime in during the interim. I had closed all major commitments an year back and was able to negotiate from a position of strength. Never saw the company as my "own", saved the heartbreak. The 2 HR girls were laying off nearly 300 people and it was a tedious task for them. They were following their masters' script. Said you will be paid the notice period salary + leave balance encashment and other retrials (such a gratuity , if eligible) to everyone who entered the room. When My turn came in, I demanded 6 months pay or court case as these HR execs never gave me a valid written reason for layoff. Cannot point to performance either, since I had a copy of my ratings saved. They kind of tried to get bossy and pointed out my onboarding documents that said " company has the rite to terminate your services in lieu of notice period pay". I replied "Sure, its more like paid parking service provider putting up a hoarding that says "Parking at owner's risk". Please put your degrees to use and not follow standard scripts. While all my other colleagues who were laid off with me got their full and final settlements in about 20 days time, mine just dragged out for more than 3 months. I was loosing hope and even contemplating negotiating with my ex manager. However, my family stood firmly beside me and were my sole source of strength. The fourth month onwards, situation changed as I was getting repeated calls from the company to accept their offer, which I kept rejecting.. End of 5th month, out of nowhere I got an email stating they will be setting 6 months salary + 2 months as bonus (no reason stated for that) and my leaves available will be en-cashed as well and I wasnt eligible for gratuity.. Was a rough 4 to 5 months.. but thank god, I did not make major changes to my lifestyle after I got this corporate Job, not bought expensive stuff bowing to peer pressure..

Thoughtful script and I was in the exact situation after working for all weekends for 6 months managing 2 projects before getting laid-off. Now by God's grace I'm in a better company with 3 levels up than in my previous org. They are still finding my replacement and the projects are yet to be launched.
