My neck injury was in 1998. This channel has to be the most important medical information on the Internet. Saw many neurologists - none of them knew. Thank you !

How do you get a Dr to diagnose you with this ? I don’t want them doing a ton of expensive heart tests on me if this is my problem and I literally have all this gastroparesis, MCTD, EDS, AFIB, Dysautnomia, Reynauds and blah blah 😩I also have 4 bulging discs in neck and lumbar with severe compression of nerve

Can this sort of thing also cause thyroid dysfunction over time?
@CaringmedicalProlotherapy29 күн бұрын
It could be but it is not the sole cause of thyroid dysfunction. There is a close proximity of the thyroid gland in the neck, meaning that issues with the cervical spine, particularly misalignment of the C7 vertebra, can potentially disrupt nerve signals to the thyroid, leading to improper thyroid function. We always recommend getting an evaluation of the cervical spice (specially DMX) if possible!

@CaringmedicalProlotherapy thank you for the reply! I suspect it's playing a role, as I did have a significant neck injury at 12 yrs old that over time has affected the curve/alignment of my c-spine, which I know from standard x-rays. In recent years, both thyroid issues and cardiovascular issues have manifested- both of which don't reflect in bloodwork... but I have 4 benign thyroid nodules now, and had a TIA 2 yrs ago, and the list of vagus nerve dysfunction- i check every box except for voice/swallowing. All my issues seems to stem from the left carotid area of my neck- including the TIA. I got a well-known brand of device to help stimulate my vagus nerve through my neck (electrostim)... and a lot of arm numbness, and my HR issues/palpitations have dramatically improved along with gut health. I actually measure my neck- and there's been a minor decrease in thyroid size too, after 2 wks. I wish I could get down to FL to be seen/treated by you folks!

I am 38 year old Female went to ER with weakness on left side leg and arm. Did MRI and was told I had a small cervical vascular dissection with a small hematoma on it. They sent Me off and told me just to take aspirin everyday … i still have left side leg weakness .. does it make sense that it’s affecting my other side? It’s not the same side of dissection.
