I love Cesar Cedeno! The most graceful player and best CF ever. Thanks for posting.

Cedeno was such a huge boost to that team down the stretch.

Jack Buck's call on that home run off of Jay Baller was one of my dad's favorite calls. "Knock me down, will ya?!"

I was sitting about 18 rows just to the left of home plate for that one. I remember that day so well. My Dad had actually taken us to 5 straight! All 3 of the epic Mets series and 2 v Cubs. He said "we're going until they clinch." The Cedeno HR was the icing

Wow...I was actually looking for some of the videos with him as a Cardinal......thank u so much. Made my day....I'm gonna state the obvious that he was a beast during that stretch....I think he also had a lot of hard hit outs. Plus he had great hands at first , was still pretty quick but u could tell he was struggling with his knee at times. By the same time one year later and he was done.

lol...we are talking about years of "work" that went into cultivating all the video, so now it is just plopping in video files and editing to what I want. It was a fun project to put everything I had in chrono order that I worked on for years a while back. Hope to just put random stuff out that puts a smile on others faces that love the Redbirds like I do

Without Cedeno, the Cardinals don’t win the division in 1985.

Cedar Cedeno was my favorite player and the Mets my favorite team. I gladly stepped back to watch CCs magical run w Cards to WS even though it cost my Mets a run. Thankfully the next yr was their year!!

Jim kaat was a coach for the 1985 cincinnati reds when he recommended cesar cedeño to whitey herzog ,acting on kaat's advice ,the cardinals acquired cedeño from the reds on aug,29,1985 for minor league outfielder mark jackson .

I keep looking for a clip with Vin Scully calling a Cedeno home run in the NLCS in LA. Was hoping it was here. Even so, great compilation that’s fun to watch. I had forgotten how much he just murdered the ball after he came over from Cincinnati.

Hi. Cedeno actually didn’t hit a HR in those playoffs. Just an fyi. 👍🏻

@@dn35243524 I must be thinking of another game then, because I vividly remember him at the plate, and Vin Scully is recapping his previous at bats. Just as he is mentioning him having hit a single to left earlier in the game, he blasts one toward the stands in left and Scully calmly says, “and there it goes…” If that rings any bells, please let me know. May have been in a game of the week or something. I always remembered it as in the NLCS because Scully was calling the game, but clearly that’s not the case.

I’m pretty confident that is the one v the Cubs the day they clinched the NL East. In fact, I think that was the only Cedeno StL HR called by Scully. It’s at the 13:50 mark

@@dn35243524That’s probably what I’m thinking of. May have gotten the “there it goes” from another player’s at bat (Jack Clark?) and combined the two in my mind. It’s fun getting old. Thanks for helping me unscramble my memory. 😁👍
