Funny you should mention that, because there was a "fight scene" at the end of the Batman / Green Hornet Cross-over episode, in which Kato (Bruce Lee) and Robin (Burt Ward) square off and are supposed to fight. Burt Ward specifically told the Writers and Producers of the shows (Both were produced by the same studio people, that Robin was supposed to "Kick Kato's Ass") at the end of the show in their fight scene. Bruce Lee was livid by that and he was right in feeling that way, because Lee would have destroyed Burt Ward in less than 10 seconds in a real fight, but Ward had it in his contract that he didn't want to be made a fool of, and didn't want to be thoroughly beaten up by Bruce Lee. Lee refused to allow Burt Ward "to beat him up" as was in the original plot and script, and Ward REFUSED to allow Kato to beat up his character of Robin, so they reached a compromise, and finally decided to end the fight and episode with neither one throwing a single punch at each other. Bruce Lee was angry at the original writing of the episode in which Robin beats him up, and Lee REFUSED to allow that for obvious reasons, not the least of which was Burt Ward's massive ego that was at stake. Burt Ward was and is a egomaniac, and wanted to preserve his image and ego. Lee could have beaten up every single person on the scene, as everyone knows, but William Dozier (the Producer), didn't want to piss Lee off in allowing Burt Ward (Robin) to have his way, because Bruce Lee was a huge commodity to the show in both America and in China. In fact, "The Green Hornet" TV show is known as "The Kato Show" in China.
@pkidawmbt4 жыл бұрын
@@quasimodo5405 Apparently everyone involved with the making of the Green Hornet also laughed at that script because they all knew that suc ha thing (Robin beating Kato) was simply not possible. Burt Ward actually said he could hold his own against Bruce. That is how big his ego was.

I'd go over to my friends house to watch batman... He had a COLOR TV; not too many family's had one in those days (remember the NBS peacock: In Living color). One day we both decided to become 'superheroes' so we went into his older brothers closet (his older brother was an aspiring rock band drummer) and took 2 of his brightly colored satiny stage shirts and cut off the front and the sides including the arms and just left the backs and the collars and we had instant superhero capes! We then named ourselves... "The Tarantulas" a crime fighting duo and went throughout the neighborhood fighting crime. Boy did we catch heck later from my friend's older brother. So innocent back then.

@@MustangWriter I always thought it was weird when they said "In living color." It's always in color! What I didn't know was that we had a black & white set, and I learned growing up that my color vision is quite impaired. I argued with my mom that the stop sign on our B&W TV was red, and I was convinced it was! She told me it was gray, and I thought she was color blind! Considering her dad was fully color-blind (no color-vision at all), I lucked out from her genes, because those genes are all on the X chromosome she gave me, and I'm only missing one of the 3 pigments. (Thanks Grandma!) To me, everything looks colorful. And that sign was RED!!! That's what the NBC Peacock always reminds me of.

there's something aesthetically very pleasing about this batman and the alternative reality it manifests. Also the lack of seriousness makes the world seem even more appealing and have a kind of cozy subtext of childlike joy....

It may have been a joke but it’s actually a good quote “who knows who posed for the Mona Lisa? Maybe the most wickedest woman in the world.”

Greatest running gag in a 📺 show that I have ever seen 😂😅😊🙃‼️ After meeting the Green Hornet Robin says, "Gosh, Batman. Why are they dressed like that for?" HILARIOUS 🤣😂‼️

I had the pleasure of corresponding with Adam West several years ago. We had a mutual friend. Fabulous man and a true gentleman.

In interviews he came across as a really nice fella with a wonderful sense of humor, especially about himself and his portrayal of Batman. May he rest in eternal bliss... :-)
