Cesium for Unreal Tutorial 01 - Quickstart

This is a quickstart guide to building a Cesium for Unreal app with Cesium World Terrain and Cesium OSM Buildings.

Install the Cesium for Unreal plugin in Unreal Engine
Add a level and import assets from Cesium ion
Add photorealistic lighting to your Cesium for Unreal app

Great plug in, Ive been watching for a while. Now that this is live, might it soon be possible to not just use satellite imagery on geoterrain... but to swap out the textures for landscape material layers based off the colors in the sat map ? at runtime ? anything sand color, will generate a layer mask for the sand in a brushify landscape material.. essentially turning your data into a landscape materials diffuse map any greens will generate a grass layer mask etc etc Maybe a deep learning plug in to examine the terrain texture per tile... being able to see" rocks, trees, bushes.. and instantly populate the terrain with megascans assets and foliage.. you could even train the ai to understand the species of plantlife based off the latitude, longitude... so it knows that bushy overhead is most likely an oak tree...

2 Questions: 1. Is it possible to "cut out" a certain part of the globe and only use that for your project? 2. (more important) is it possible to get just the globe with earth´s heightmaps and nothing else? No plants, no buildings, no streets, no fotos of parking lots... nothing?

Where's the CesiumSunSky blueprint, please? It does not appear in the, Cesium for Unreal Content, folder.

You might see mentions of a FloatingPawn in some documentation or plugin content. The FloatingPawn has been deprecated and replaced with DynamicPawn as of Cesium for Unreal version 1.3.0.

Do you mean that FloatingPawn will no longer work in UE4 v4.7.0 as it has been replaced to DynamicPawn instead? I have been trying to follow his tutorial, but nothing happened when I dragged and drop FloatingPawn into the working window.

Hi Paul, I still not get if it possibile to use the google maps tiling or just the texturing from google maps freely for commercial use, as archiviz videos? Do you know something about it?

Last time I checked the website, right after the release of the plugin, I noticed there was no data about Antarctica continent location. Any chance to get that available? This plugin is one of the best thing I could have want for and from Unreal Engine.

I understand this makes a globe? I don't want to make a globe. I want to make an planer projection, the Azimuthal Equidistant projection. Can I do that with Cesium?
