I fly the same old planes, 172, 152, 150. All rentals. I really appreciate your video's , down to earth and not the "Instagram vibe" type of video's. Keep them coming ! And save sky's, all the way from the Netherlands.

Thank you, Marc from the Netherlands! I appreciate the kind words and glad you’re enjoying the videos. I’m going to try to keep it as real as I can, so things MAY get a little bit cheesy once I really start getting comfortable being on camera 😂. Cheers!

Constructive feedback - 1:39 get all of those loose items secured - especially water bottle above panel.

Constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcome! And, I can completely understand your point. Last thing I need is for a water bottle to fall down underneath my rudder pedal and lock up my rudder. Thank you, @BRianSiskind!

Fatherly love! My son is aspiring to fly and for now is using the flight simulator. He's only 8 right now so we will see where it goes! Great job dad!
@333aviation11 ай бұрын
That's fantastic, @naknaksdadn572 ! Around my area, we have events called Young Eagles where local pilots take children up in their airplanes and often let them take the controls for a while. They even get to log their time in a little log book that they get to keep. I'm not sure if you have events like that in your area, but I would definitely look into it. Get him a flight in a small airplane and he'll remember it for life,... annnnnd, will probably end up becoming a pilot :). Thanks for the comment. Being a Dad to such amazing children is one of my greatest accomplishments.

Thank you for the kind words, @jean-richardalfred733 . I am privileged to be able to say that I have a wonderful relationship with all three of my children, and nothing brings me more joy than to be able to share experiences like the gift of flight with them. I appreciate your comment. Hello Germany!

The part 141 route with prior private might be a better alternitive, you get your commercial earlier and have lower ATP mins if she wants to go to the airlines. The structured training is always a plus too.
@333aviation11 ай бұрын
Yeah... we've got some options to weigh out. She's currently going to college for business management so, before committing to a flight school path, I just want to give her a few hours of training to see if it's actually something that's gonna stick, you know? At least if she gets her PPL, I'll have a second pilot in the family that can put some hours on our little Cessna.

You owe the aviation community good safety practices. Clear all loose items from the dash! Your poor daughter looked more like hostage than a student pilot. I learned to fly in a Cessna 150 back in '73. I still have a soft spot for them. I'll be on the lookout for more of your videos.

Thanks for the comment, @mikebracey8832 .Another viewer noticed the loose items as well, and I'm happy to say that I've already taken measures to improve on those habits. As for my daughter, she is a very sweet spirited young lady and the apple of my eye. She's not a student pilot yet, but she aspires to be one. Her demeanor is simply a reflection of being a very introverted person who has some insecurities, but perhaps she'll grow out of that someday. Regardless of what it looks like, she treasures our time flying together, as do I, and she's never forced to go up flying with me. I love the 150. It's taking me a while to get used to, since I trained in a Cherokee 180 and the wind tends to fly this bird like a kite, but I'm enjoying learning its characteristics by logging more flights and I'm looking forward to sharing them on this platform. Thanks for watching!

@mikebracey8832 I disagree, to me it looked like she was soaking it all in. He was giving a lot of info and she was listening intently. She also had her eyes outside a great habit to get into. Another great habit is to identify the runway you are clear of for when you are at airports with multiple runways.

Fully expected your channel to already have 100K followers with the level of quality your video had. Look forward to seeing more of these!

Wow, @AFJ_ ... that's super cool of you to say, man. Thank you! Right now, I'm just enjoying putting the content together for our aviation community and getting up in the air more frequently. Perhaps I have to learn to "talk" to the KZbin algorithm gods a little better for the video to show up more, but slow and steady... I'll get there. I appreciate the encouraging words. Blue skies, buddy!

I'm sure it's not easy to cut short a flight lesson with your daughter, but this was a good lesson in risk management and self discipline.
@333aviation11 ай бұрын
I couldn't agree more, @AwestrikeFearofGods . When I take ANY one up flying, part of the pilot briefing is letting them know that there's always a chance that we'll have to scrub the flight, delay our return home or even stay the night if weather is bad. As a middle-aged pilot with a family, safety is always my number-one priority. Might make me a bit of a dud to some, but flying is a calculated risk. And, I'll always air on the side of caution. Thanks for the comment!

Hello. I just now started following you. I grew up on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. I now live in Wyoming and flying on occasion to visit my sister in Lake Wales Florida. It looks like pilot country is not very far away from Lake Wales.

Hey, @themaverickproject4577 ! I've been to Lake Wales many times, mostly on the ground. Longish drive, short flight. Welcome to the channel! I appreciate you following the adventures!

"When we took off, there was no precipitation..." Precipitation clearly visible during taxi, run-up, takeoff, and climb.
@333aviation11 ай бұрын
Fair enough, @ldmax . I should have clarified. Most of what was on the windshield was sitting precip from earlier showers. In Florida, we legitimately get 5 minute showers that come and go. My daughter and I sat in the airplane for about 15 minutes chit-chatting as we stared at the windshield to see if any “new” precip appeared. With the all clear, we went wheels up. A lot of what you see in the run-up and take off was residual moisture from on and around the cowling as a result of the increased prop RPM. But, once we got up, there was definitely a slight drizzle that just continued to grow. All that being said, you’re not wrong… there was certainly some new precip on the climb out. I appreciate you joining the conversation. Thanks for commenting.

@333aviation hey man, I'm a Floridian. 100% would not have flown VFR with those clouds. Put yourself in a really bad spot for VFR
@333aviation11 ай бұрын
Yeah, there’s definitely better days to fly. But, that day really wasn’t that bad. I’ve flown in overcast skies with rain showers in the vicinity many times, and the conditions usually make for a really smooth flight. As long as you do a thorough weather briefing and understand the elements at play, you can have a perfectly safe VFR flight in light precipitation. BUT, you’ve got to be operating within your skill and comfort level. TAF and METAR for the day were winds of 090 at 7, clouds at 8,000 FT, visibility 10 miles with rain showers in the vicinity. This is almost everyday in June in Florida. Like @ldmax, you’re not wrong, but I would never intentionally put myself or my passengers in an unsafe situation. Which is why we had a plan to turnaround if it picked up, which we did. Thanks for the comment, @christopherbernhardt ! We all learn from each other, which is what aviation is all about.

Seriously guys? If you’re being that conservative you’d never fly VFR here in Europe. Just ridiculous comments here. 🙈
