Checklists are essential to ensure that all required actions are performed in order without being skipped. In this video, I go through the "Before starting engines" checklist that I used at my flight school while training for my private pilot certificate. The bulk of this checklist consists of the SAFETY acronym used for passenger briefing.
Before starting engines checklist consists of the following items:
1. Preflight inspection - Complete
2. Passenger Briefing - Complete
3. Seat Belts - Fasten/Adjust
4. Brake - Test and Set
5. Fuel Selector - Both
6. Fuel Shutoff Valve - Check In
7. Circuit Breakers - In
8. Electrical and Avionics Switch - Off
