At 35:35 in steep turns I found that two or even three rolls of trim after the start of turn was very helpful. This video was also helpful, student was very soft with controls. About to do my checkride prep Monday

That did not resemble any checkride I have taken. On my PPL checkride, the examiner shut the fuel off. I turned it back on. He attempted to shut it off again. I slapped his hand and I passed.May 8 1981.

Reminds me of The Guardian Coast Guard rescue swimmer movie with Ashton Kutcher. He punched a squirming drowning swimmer during a test to stop him from failing the rescue test. I suppose Rule #1 is Take care of the situation.

Power on stalls use rudder to stay coordinated. Youll end up spinning correcting using aileron I had issues most with my steep turns you did pretty well
@kimberlywentworth9160
@kimberlywentworth9160 Жыл бұрын
Yep and yep and yep, Yes, I did not use enough right rudder during my power on stall and I did not keep the wings perfectly level. the plane started to spin and I then had to do full right rudder. power out, push down a bit then recover. Well that was a fail if I did my check ride. I am a student pilot that just completed my first solo. So the idea here is to use that right rudder like you mean it when doing a power on stall.

Watching his power on stall, def more right rudder to stay coordinated, why he had an abrupt wing drop to the left. But nice recovery, better on the second one.

I’m only a little ways in, but what is this video? I expected it to be a trial check ride, but didn’t expect the pilot to be coached on how to lean the mixture, etc. also, seems very slow on checklist. I’m not dissing the person but this isn’t what I thought a check ride would entail. I’m a student pilot too, so I’m not knocking this person, but I’m confused at the level of instruction, as it seems the pilot is being taught, I thought even a practice check ride would be where the instructor has minimal input on normal procedures and asks the pilot to perform maneuvers and grades them by the criteria in the regs.
@shader26
@shader26 4 жыл бұрын
Ok, I think I hear the pilot say “it’s been a year, I’m a little rusty” so I get that. It’s worth watching, good tips in here and good instructor. We all have our own things. I notice the pilot isn’t looking before turning left in slow flight, we get drilled on that always look from the other side ending up to the side you are going to turn to last just before turns. But I’m sure any video of me, this pilot could find many things to correct, just different ones.

Carburetor heat?
@captain_deadpoolcx7585
@captain_deadpoolcx7585 6 ай бұрын
Are u asking what it is? If so... Prevents icing that can form in the venturi by using unfiltered heated air (exhaust). Naturally it reduces performance bcz hotter air (less dense) is entering the chambers.

@@robinhoodcfi8927 you can only do special VFR if you are instrument rated with an instrument rated plane and not a student pilot. So you actually cannot do special VFR. But he is with the instructor so no biggie I guess.
