Just like the summer roads in Michigan. Only one is open at a time.

Excellent video, thanks for not plastering music on top, and just letting us hear ATC and the cockpit noises/conversations. Well done - I have subscribed

I've got another one like that I'll be posting in a couple of weeks.

DTW is a pretty busy airport when everybody has to make that long 270-ish degree turn and share a single runway.

Awesome video!!! There aren't many videos like this, I mean a truly awesome video of an Cessna or another type of small plane landing at Detroit!!! especially with the live ATC, and wonderful views. I am glad you posted this. I enjoyed every second of it!! And much success to you! Cheers, Ben

So much concrete, but at the same time, few runways to land on... at least during your arrival. :O Great video,captmoonbeam! Gorgeous day to be out flying.

skyyguyy Hey sky guy. I've always wondered how closely people payed attention to the details in the video in a situational awareness kind of way. Now I know at least one person does. Fly safe buddy.
@Windtee9 жыл бұрын
captmoonbeam Thanks, you too! For me, some of the greatest pleasures in flight are in the details. I just roll like that. :)

Like always el capitan nice job love your video the citation is always been the plane i love even is pilot say they slow.
@captmoonbeam9 жыл бұрын
Marin Delgado Hi Marin. I think sometimes the Cessna Citation doesn't get the respect it deserves. We're flying the last in the line of the 500 series, the Citation Encore and we normally cruise at about 420 kts. Not as fast as some of the other guys but, we're slowly catching up.

Geoffrey Gallaway Hi Geoffrey. Thanks for watching. Many years ago I used to fly out of the old. St Charles airport. Flew the night freight runs in the Cessna 210's.

I've gotta say, that was cool! I wish the instruments were clear because this would make an excellent learning video for ground school!

bermudaguy1 Hi Bermuda Guy. That's a big problem. I've managed to reduce some of the flicker by using a neutral density filter on my GoPro. Still can't get it just right. most of my videos i delete because of one issue or another. Sometimes it's just luck. Fly safe.

OK, a really silly question. How do they name the intersections and ILS way points like PUKLE? Does it have to do with location or what?
@d21approach7 жыл бұрын
Mike Price some are named for places, some for controllers, some for local sports teams/people/schools. Once upon a time, all the STARS (standard instrument arrivals) were named stars...like the POLAR arrival, the SPICA arrival, and the MIZAR arrival. PUKLE? Well, sometimes they just try to find a five letter combination that hasn’t been used.

If your descending below 10,000 and flying at 280 and they want 210, why not use the air breaks to help slow down quicker?
@captmoonbeam7 жыл бұрын
If we need to use them we do. But, if you can momentarily level off and bleed the speed off we do. Using the speedbrakes increase the noise and vibration level and is very noticeable to the passengers at high speeds.

Where would you put your plane. How would you leave the airport. Is there a private Terminal???
@captmoonbeam8 жыл бұрын
+Ethan Bean There is a fixed base operator on a separate ramp that sells fuel and services to private aircraft. We depart exactly the same way the airliners do. We file a flight plan and get a clearance over the radio before we depart.

How did you guys get permission to land at a Commercial Airport, What did you have to do???+
@captmoonbeam8 жыл бұрын
+Ethan Bean Private aircraft are not restricted from using large commercial airports. You just need a mode C transponder so they can see you on radar and to get a clearance into the class B airspace on the radio,

increíble video_!
@moneylab28608 жыл бұрын
P.S. I did not know you could get such a short N-number registration! Awesome
@captmoonbeam8 жыл бұрын
they are difficult to get. If we sell the aircraft we normally keep the N number to transfer to the new aircraft. That way the few we have, we keep.
