In this video, I talk about the swing of Drew Burress, the Georgia Tech player who hit four home runs in four swings, at only 5"9", 182. Pretty crazy.

True 👍. I was a cleanup hitter. The first hitting drill I did with my kids when teaching them was a one front only arm swim.

please make a video on whether you should scap load in baseball? i know teacherman says you shouldn't but he screwed up my swing up a lot already lol so im not trusting him as much anymore

Swing with just your lead arm and figure out what swing you want to do to deliver the most force to the ball that way. Then simply add your back arm and keep (for the most part) the same structure. I'm not against a little scap load, I'm not against the back arm contributing to the swing, I just think that the most important thing is that you lean hard toward the structure you would have if your back arm isn't on the bat at all.

Will he need to get the foot, down quicker, for the pro level?

He’s already facing pitch speeds that are pretty similar to the speeds in the mlb so he’ll probably be fine

@@jerm7451 I agree. But if he does need to be quicker, just means he starts a little earlier. Not a big adjustment.

Looks more like what teacherman teaches😂

No, the opposite. Head level, front arm through the hitting zone as level as the pitch allows. Don’t dip the back shoulder and head like Teacheman advocates. Your hands will know what to do if the front arm leads.

Not what he teaches. He teaches a tilt which is what the batter is doing in the video with his weight on his back half. Tilting into the zone as he turns. It’s the only way to keep body controlled in line with the pitch. Otherwise you use your arms similar to to what Jamie teaches

@@stevenediger7945 Complete misinformation of what @teacherman teaches. He teaches to tilt into the zone to keep body control through the zone. Just like the batter in the video is doing. This also allows bat path to be on plane with the pitch. As you see with the hitter his follow through causes him to continue leaning over the plate and stays on his back legs. Unlike what Jaimie teaches. His teaching actually causes hitters to only hit with their arms.

He isn’t one legged and is not going backwards like HLP’ers. I believe this is what the HLP guys think they’re doing but aren’t if you study the video.

Drew is whipping the bat through with the torque of his chest being the main engine, not the torque of his wrists and forearms as "teacherman" shows, while stumbling around.
