The split screne shows it all. Great job. Will be show my son. Thanks.

Could you explain how to stop missing under balls with a LAD swing. I transferred my swing into this pattern this off season but have had issues keeping my hands above the ball while letting them drag behind my body.

Jamie can you do a video of hand position at the load of the swing into flatting of the barrel? I’ve stayed away from teaching moves (snaps or forces moves to flattening) and focus on keeping hands feeling lose and swing starting behind shoulders and whipping through the zone. If timing is correct I see great results and a lot of power.

@@billwallace6980 I talked about hand movement in this video. Sorry, I don’t understand.

@@theswingmechanic more from a game at bat perspective. I get the movement from a training perspective but I’m curious on your thoughts on the move as a batter load and the pitcher is starting to delivery the pitch. Hope that makes more sense.

@@billwallace6980I agree, I think there are some training/feels techniques in the video I would not exhibit in a game swing. The front arm swings, hands and bat drop in elevation prior to their forward movement, I significantly lost power when I tried it. Back arm swings had some mechanical omissions which lead to bat drag in the swing.

@@billwallace6980 with all due respect, I think your questions are indicative of the overthinking and over-analysis of things that will work themselves out if you’re training correctly.

Not so much overthinking, although I get your point, was looking for different ways to explain your swing training. I find some kids need to hear it in different ways. Appreciate all your videos. Got a couple of kids who are having a great deal of success using lead arm swing.

Jaime, when you are dropping the bat behind you, are you basically "getting on plane with the ball" ?
@theswingmechanic4 ай бұрын
@@michaelallen1154 I see the “getting on plane” thing as a red herring. What dropping the barrel really does has to do with how it’s positioning your body to deliver the barrel through the zone with more speed and more mass behind it.

Very interesting stuff. However, in the side by side comparison, I think the back arm dominant style clearly shows a shorter more direct swing, no? The back arm dominant swing looks long and loopy by comparison.

That's what conventional instruction has conditioned people to believe, yes. There's no reason why a lead-arm pathway would take longer to get to the ball. It has to do with the "shortest distance between two points is a straight line" maxim. But that doesn't apply when it comes to the baseball swing.

Jaclyn Milian is a softball player on KZbin, her swing is extreme. All her parts are pushed to the limits. I would like to know your breakdown of her swing.

That side by side video of front vs back arm action is money!
