Bought the lp last year. I love the sound of 70s & 80s gear. Got all Puppy albums.

I actually received my own personal copy of brap and forth 8 from amazon the other day and listening to it on a p.o.s. Phone doesn't do it justice, you require a 5.1. Surround sound system to really appreciate it.

I just discovered this song/video and it is really cool. Reminds me of the Bites/Remission stuff. I've been a SP since the 80s but I somehow I never checked out the back and forth stuff.

I discovered SP back in 1991 when I was in 9th grade, and I became obsessed. I remember lamenting that it was hard to find more info about them; they seemed so mysterious. I scoured local record stores for their albums and singles and eventually got them all. But there was this rumor/legend that I heard about from friends and read about in zines (and later, on the early internet) that there was an unobtainable first album that they only released on cassette that I would never get to hear. I did eventually get Back and Forth v.2 of course, but that aura of mystery and desire for more never really went away. Fast forward to today, and we’re living in an age of wonder where cEvin himself is uploading deep tracks and outtakes from those early days directly to us. It would have been unimaginable to my 15 year old self. Thank you cEvin, for all the music and for this channel!

Much happier times. I’ve watched stuff my family had from then, but it makes me depressed. Guess it’s my realization our fate is inevitable. Quite a musical bunch you have there though. 🤗 thanks for sharing

Any chance of buying these outtakes in lossless ? I really wish you would do more "A day in the life of mr Key"-videos. They were very enjoyable. Would love some Q&A and Skinny Puppy-stories too. Do you own the masters to the early Skinny-albums? Would love to hear a remaster and remix of those, sans brickwalling of course.

I always wanted to ask, you say in the leaner notes it was done on the "multi Moog" and "606" was the Moog Parts sequence in one go, or was it freehand multi overdubbed? BrAp oN!!¡!🎹🎧💫😵👌😎👍✋✌
@maxmatson15784 жыл бұрын
@@terrybull1534 I think you're right! When I played it back, that's the conclusion I came to too.
@scaremeister4 жыл бұрын
actually all hand played, Multi Moog bassline handplayed , the 606 is the drums, arpeggio was the dx7 with hand played parts using a delay.
@maxmatson15784 жыл бұрын
@@scaremeister thank you so for replying🙏 longtime fan! major practicer of the "BrAp" technique🎹🎧💫😵 thank you for giving more detail including mentioning the DX7 as the arpeggiator✋✌

@@scaremeister sorry to bother you again I know it's a bit off topic but I was always curious to ask I remember reading on the group "coil" there old web page listing planned collaborations, reading a possible "coil vs download" collaboration. Was there ever a planned recording sessions, or if you guys ever met at all?✌
