The first time I went to a dispensary I bought 2 $15 grams instead of getting a first timer deal so the girl entered me in a raffle for free, as I was about to walk out they let me know I actually won a whole space cake, not a piece the whole thing. So I went to my best friends house and he was in the shower so I left the cake on his counter and went to his room to pack his bong while I waited for him....he comes in after like 10 min already eating a piece, I ran to the kitchen and his aunt's and grandma were already eating it and drinking coffee.😵😂😂 They thanked me for the gift and I told them it had weed in it and they just laughed it off like "yeah right". I wasn't allowed back for a month or so and whenever they have cake or pie they make sure to ask if it was me who brought it over😅😅😅

There is a Star Buds a mile from my house in Baltimore. I go there all the time. It was also the first one I ever shopped at. You can smell the weed when you walk into the vestibule. First time I ever went there, my friend was with me, I thought he was going to cry. He was saying, "I never thought I'd see the day, where there would be a place like this".

my first trip to a dispensary was probably the most disappointing experience it could've been. i showed up only to learn that the dispensary didn't have a parking lot, so they were using the parking lot for a shopping center almost half a mile away. it was the middle of winter, temps well below freezing, waiting for a bus to pick customers up 10 at a time. once we reached the dispensary we were lead single file to the front door, where we had to show ID, and our order confirmation texts on our phones. once inside we were told to follow a zigzagging path through the shop to get to the counter, if anyone stopped to look at anything on the shelves, or stepped out of line, they got yelled at by the employees, if not asked to leave by the security guard. we NEVER got to actually see what we were buying, had to order everything online, and it was brought to the counter already bagged and sealed, and we were rushed back out the door as quickly as possible the second our purchase was complete. while i know illinois is in the top 5 worst states for legal weed, i gotta say my first experience going to a dispensary was so off the charts horrible, that i really cant understand why anyone would put themselves through it, while paying a retardedly high 20-25% tax on top of over inflated purchase prices and sales tax, when they could go to the guy down the street and get the same quality for 1/4 the price.

You're right you never forget the first time you buy "legal" cannabis...it was in 1994 at the grasshopper the small one we arrived very early and it was the one who opened the sooner...as soon as it was ok to go in we did and I started to look for the menu as dozens of people told me to look for the menu but no menu and I was too shy to ask for it and after we ordered a breakfast this Rastafarian with so long hairs smelling patchouli came in and went direct to a small black square on the wall and pushed a button on the wall...it was a smoked glass with a light inside that stay on as long as you keep pushing the button...this rasta ask the budtender to watch and smell 3 different buds and choose 2 different I just took the same...it was also the first time I smoked flowers so I mimic this guy who smoked pure same it was the first time and because of the nutes not well flushed back then it was so harsh that I had to open the J and add half tobacco to have something smokable...I have so many memories of this day but I can't tell you what I did last week...crazy! Have a lifted one and lots of good vibes from France

When I went to a recreational state, the supplies were sold separate from bud. I bought a blunt roller I thought was a king and Richardson’s meats sold me a grinder with the teeth butted to the screen for $15. I was having a bad day that first day. It was a long dry 22 hour drive. The dispensary was real nice, like a wine shop. The bud was in Petri dishes the size of coasters. Each one had a loupe spot and a sniffer vent. The selection was vastly hybrids. What isn’t a hybrid today?! Their flower is sold by the 8th, not the gram or ounce, so u have to be prepared to do some math. U gotta convert the decimal to a whole number and then divide, so double the 8th price and divide that by 7 to know cost per gram. It’s a lot to expect of a Murcan muggle, ya know. I bought 2 bags and 1 jar, but all of it was LARF. It felt like styrofoam. Touching it was like scratching a chalkboard. It looks like so much, but it mushes down to dam near nothing. Wanna know some messed up? After I drive 22 hours dry af, can’t find the supplies I need, and finally get this chalkboard bud, my homegirl stops by to show off her preroll and laugh at me for paying double cause she got a message card. She didn’t offer and I wasn’t gonna beg. I’d rather pay double than beg for something I can afford without the help of others. And there ya have the final thought - I can feed myself without the help of others. U need to do for yourself as much as u can. That might mean buying less than 1.5o from Walmart’s garden ctr, growing a few autos, or cloning photos. Ya do what ya can for yourself and ya shouldn’t feel any shame for asking for the help u genuinely need.

I live in Detroit born & raised. And have been a stoner for the better part of 2 decades. Michigan legalized rec weed a few years ago but I had never bought from a dispensary until a few weeks ago when I picked up 1oz of Pablos Revenge & an oz of Lemonberry Kush. Anyways, it was a pretty dope experience. I just went on my phone and ordered it like a pizza and 45-60mins later my doorbell rings I give the guy the cash he gives me the stash. Then I give him my John Henry so he can prove he sold to a legal adult. Give him a $5 for a tip, a first bump & a have a nice day, & send'em on his way. I had to order twice cuz I guess the drivers are only allowed to have a certain amount in the car or something. Anyway, all in it was like $250 for 2 oz of super dank bud. In fact, I had to let the lemonberry dry out a few hours cuz it was too sticky to even pack a bowl. I actually should have let it dry longer but I didn't want to lose potency on the whole oz so I just bagged it up into 8th and called it good enough.

I’ve been smoking for close to 15 years, but it wasn’t until last year 2021 when I visited a dispensary. I’d always bought from the plug. Anyway I traveled to Colorado last year to help some good friends move. My first dispo was Rocky Mountain in ridgeway. We got the moving truck unloaded, and getting ready to finally go to the dispo. My buddy’s uncle had a E-rig and was offered us some dabs. I hit this e-rig three times, and granted I had not smoked dabs in probably a couple of years. By the time we got to the dispo I’m higher than I’d been in ages. I’m looking around the dispo and I’m insanely stoned. I wound up getting some lilac diesel, and Tropicana cookies. I didn’t even smoke the weed I bought until the next day because I was so stoned for the rest of the day. The whole experience will be forever etched in my brain.

First time I went to a dispensary was in Amsterdam, I had just got off a flight dropped of my luggage at my accommodation and went straight to a shop. I smoked daily so was confident with my tolerance. My first joint left me couch locked at the store, I was confused as to why I was so baked so got a little paranoid. Tried to pull out my laptop and watch some shows to chill out and relax and proceeded to knock over my glass of water smashing it making a really loud noise and getting everyone's attention. I tried to help the guy clean up my mess and apologised profusely, not my proudest moment! Haha 😂 After that none of the weed from Amsterdam hit me as hard as the first joint and I still wonder wtf was up with that. PS. Stardawg is my favourite strain, never knew it was a UK thing, makes sense why I haven't been able to find it anywhere else! Haha 🤣

I live in Illinois (not Chicago) so most of the dispensaries downstate tend to not have the actual product out on display - they keep it locked up until you ask a budtender about trying something or make a purchase. Despite that, my favorite part is how the smell just ✨️slaps✨️ you in the face the moment you open the door. It's like heaven's gates opening up lol

one of my worst smoking stories is one night i was grinding on assasin creed oddessey it was like 2020 january or late december. it is almost 2 am, the temp is -11 degrees Fahrenheit with a wind chill of -40. i walked out to the shed where i kept my weed bc i was paranoid and i grab the glass dry pipe i used and it was beyond cold, my fingers burned trying to load it then every hit hurt my lungs so much because it was such a hot hit then freeeeezing air. by far my worst experience smoking but i got super high.

My first time in a dispensary was a week after my 18th bday this year, I got my med card and finally was able to legally buy weed. I went to a sunny side shop near my house in New York, and frankly I was kind of disappointed. I wasn’t able to see or smell the weed before purchasing it, and there were only like 6 different strains when I first went in. The weed I purchased itself was fire, and I got one of the two eights I bought for free because of first time buying. In the end a dispensary beats any street weed, but New York doesn’t got any selection especially for the concentrates rn.
