Why Sri Lanka media does not carry any positive news.....150 years and still going...... it self is proven " Positivity " for tea. support the peoples moral and lift them up rather stamping them down their resilience..Go get a tea stop drinking and reporting KAHATA.

Gov. direct intervention is required to establish a solid welfare system for plantation workers before its too late. If not the world will not get another chance to have a cup of Premium quality tea.

Govt should encourage more productive Tea ☕ plantations methods and also aggressively market tea to USA and UK rather than Russia, thereby increasing more revenue by at least $3 billion, and challenge Kenya and India head on for orthodox tea

There needs to be a total overhaul of marketing including educating the public about tea grade, why loose leaf is better than tea bags etc. new teapots have eliminated the inconvenience of loose leaf tea. The whole culture of tea drinking needs to be reviewed, akin to kinds of coffee connoisseur promotions. Finally, I get the pesticide issue, however there maybe a backlash from the woke crowd about supporting tea where there are dubious sustainability practices. The people particularly disadvantaged are Tamil women and children, things have to change . Women should be encouraged to be industry leaders in a field totally dominated by men. The gender politics around male alcoholism and sexual violence needs to be tackled.

Business will never die as long as there are buyers are there people who grow it. Another thing is no need to dream that you will sell this to mass as in past times have changed and so needs the business and people.

Actually I was shocked moving from Australia to the UK, Ceylon Tea hardly has a presence. You usually only have 1-2 brand choices for loose leaf here, Dilmah brand is non existent in supermarkets, whilst dominant in Australia. Better targeted marketing and consumer education is urgently required. As an expat, I could do a better job than the folk doing this., the decline has sharply increased since the mid 2000’s

Yields are low and going down further due to mismanagement, resulting in a high cost of production. Tea in Ceylon has been destroyed by mismanagement and the nationalisation of the industry and has no future in th6e country.
