The Legacy Hornet is still an ass kicking fighter(upgraded and updated), is a better dogfighter than the Super Hornet, looks great in the air, sounds great(nasty) and the Canadian pilots are as good as it gets. I have never seen more than 3 in the air at one time myself. You can see they are simulating ground attacks strafing and bombing. Oh what a day it must be when you get your wings and you are a fighter pilot...gotta be the best job in the world! Thanks for the video!

Growing up in an air force town when I was a kid, it was always a thrill to see the occasional Hornet or Freedom Fighter in the sky whenever an element would pass through on exercises. Most days the skies were just filled with C-130s and the incessant buzz of their turboprops.

Cool video. I'm surprised they weren't using the Snowbirds for the show, but seeing out CA-18s in action is cool. One question: Was this an international airshow or something, or is there some other reason I see F-35s parked there?

Bagotville international airshow is the biggest airshow we have in Quebec since they stopped doing the one in Quebec City (CYQB) in 2010 .This a mix of the CF-18's demonstration called Mass Attack . I'm surprised we managed to get that many cf188s in the air all at one time the way the government carries on about them being so old and it desperate need of replacement. Maybe they picked a time where they could just get that number of cf188s between major overhauls.

The CF-188 are indeed old although they have been updated. A huge amount of credit/kudos go to the people who maintain them. Both Australia & Canada over the lifespan of this aircraft actually improved them so they are in a sense an ongoing project. It is time for a replacement understanding that Canada will always need a robust fighter/interceptor.
