I have just had the first service done on my 450MT, I did the first 600 miles in 2 weeks, I can't stay off it, it is a fantastic bike,. The power and torque figures are 60% of aT7, but it feels more like 80%, I have come off a T7 World Raid and the fun factor is so much more on the MT. At £5699 it is a bargain.

Strangely enough I have just returned from an 8 months journey that took me to Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran, Afghanistan etc… on a 650 Vstrom, no issues really apart from struggling a little off-road so I tested the MT450 the other day and have already ordered one. I have rode around the world many times on different bikes but the MT is exactly what I have been looking for. Can’t wait to head to India with it next April.

It's funny because I'm looking to do a large trip from Europe to SE Asia, through similar countries as you just mentioned, but was afraid that my current V-Strom 650 was just too heavy to do what I want to do with it. So to see you and the people from that video all mention changing the Vstrom for the CFMoto is very interesting!

@@didiermartin9386 Yeah my thought was that the V Strom will get me to my destination, but as someone who likes to go off the beaten path and explore around, I think the MT will make that better doable. Also my V Strom is from 2008, and its age is starting to show, so a new bike would not be a bad idea anyway. Thanks for the advice!

I think it’s an excellent real world bike. I have just got back from a week away in eastern France and southern Germany with a quick visit to Austria and Liechtenstein thrown in. Yesterday I rode home from Alsace to south western France. I rode 750 km on D roads and had a great ride. By keeping off the main roads I was empty roads for most of the day, sheer bliss. There is no need to have a big powerful bike and use motorways to cover big distances. My 500X has a range of over 300 miles but I normally stop more frequently than that so always have plenty in reserve. Yesterdays average mpg was 3.1 litres to 100 km and that’s high 80s mpg. These middleweight bikes are really the way forward.

I highly recommend Uncle Wang and his cat. Just got to the first running period and can now rev to 6000 and stop cyclists overtaking me. Replaced bash plate, put on crash bars, added fog lamps (like I'm ever going to need them in Fuerteventura), printed a decent holder for the GoPro, added a TPMS and a daft Carplay. Quality is a bit bizarre as I'm not familiar with current production values but the swing arm looks high quality. Plastic has a weird shading which works well but makes me think I'm 66 years old. Everything else seems OK but the Switchgear might fade and Uncle Wang prices them around 30 quid. There's lots of bits to this bike that makes it different: There's a plug that's connected to the ignition so you can connect extras, the bars have ready mounting points, there's screw holes on the nice swing arm for bobbins etc. It has no vices, none. Try and find one. It just seems so well thought out and not like a 6 month Suzuki production run.

A great looking bike with good specs. I usually ride long distances, not necessarily the "most dangerous roads ever" or "highest passes ever" - as it comes. No rally style...I usually have time when travelling. My questions to the user community; 1) Does it share any parts with KTM. ( After having owned 2 x KTMs, both of which were an absolute nightmare, I would be very hesitant to have a bike that has any KTM parts on it. Not a single screw to be shared with KTM) 2) How easy are basic services....access to battery, cleaning of air filter. Does the tank needs to be taken off to reach the air-filter ? 3) Are the oil change intervals still 5,000 km ? 4) Does it have a main stand ? Thanks

This is such a tempting "upgrade" to the '23 Vstrom 650XT I have right now. My only problem is I haven't reached the limits of what the 650 XT can do, so from a hassle and financial point of view, I can't justify it. If I was in the market to buy a bike now, I would 90% go with the 450 MT because it's more modern, more off-road oriented and waaay better looking. The only possible problem I have with it is the long term reliability and servicing under warranty, which depends a lot on the country you are in.

Had it off road for an adventure trial last week and only thing letting it down really was the softer suspension, albeit I knew to expect it, but yet surprisingly capable with the new Anakee Wild tyres fitted. You think difference is enough to warrant changing to one of these or fettle the scrambler instead with a Rally Raid kit as the bike suits for all else albeit, it’s a touch smaller for any pillion work i might want to do compared to the 450.

My 450 has a very jerky off idle fueling. There is an updated ecu tune directly from cfmoto. I am back in Asia, so I will have to wait for next summer to update my. Are u planning on doing this update? Are u satisfied with the current/"original" ecu tune. Last, as always, I find the short final gearing (6th or even 5th gear) a miss/issue for the highway riding. The engine has plenty of power for much taller upper gears. I am cool with 7000 rpm at about 70 mph on my Rally, with the MT450 7000 at this speed is only 1500 from the red line. Thx for another good vid, will be interesting how the parts fit on the MT. Be aware that the downtubes supporting the skid plate, spring out by few cm when u removed the plate. I now use a strap to hold them in or in place, to prevent damage the welded in nut plates.

CF Moto baffle me. They release a new bike and have hyped it up quite a bit, but the few sent over to the UK are sold out and no bikes for 6 months, plus parts and accessory availability is virtually non existent (and to be honest dealer network - no dealers within 70 miles of me). It seems a great bike but they are shooting themselves in the foot slightly. They’re a big quite well established brand and they can do better IMHO. I’d agree that despite the lower fuel economy the plus point of a smooth twin and the looks lean me towards the MT. Not a fan of the Himalayan or RE in general.

I possibly buy one second hand same as the Himalayan- pick up a bargain.

If you'd like to send me £8500 I'll gladly add a kove 450 to the fleet! To be honest it doesn't hold my appeal as a travel bike. More a rally bike and too peaky for me. Comparison of cf moto to t7 and touereg is not that relevant to me either. Both despite 'only' weighing a bit more feel heavier and I wouldn't take either on the trails I would take the cf. Add in price plus complexity of the aprilia. I don't see much gain on going up to that class if I'm honest, although both great bikes no doubt about it. I think resale on this cf should be ok. High demand, low supply currently, but in this price bracket I don't care so much about resale as I would had I spent £10k. Or care so much about scuffs etc

@@nathanthepostman fair enough, you also probably hire the bikes as well , I used to do the same , so you obviously recoup outlays their. I just couldn’t buy a “ full Chinese bike mate “ I know the quality and reliability is definitely pretty good now and CF Moto is well established ( also on Australia ) and lots of dealers , also they have become very popular as well . I don’t understand why you didn’t get on with the new Himalayan 450 ? , I quite like it and think it’s design is original and Royal Enfield, even the Kovo 450 is very original for a Chinese bike and the original designer loved bikes , same with the Chinese LS2 helmets- is the story of the little guy making them in his garage. But the MT 450 is a bike copied from other designs buy a big Chinese manufacturer. On that alone I would buy the Himalayan, I know the other Japanese SHOULD off got their crap 💩 together and built a light weight 400-500 twin dual sport/ ADV years ago , but just keep spitting out old refreshed models , I have a Highly modified CRF 300 Rally - why isn’t it a 400/450 by now , and the verses 300 why doesn’t it have the 400 Ninja engine in it yet ? , don’t get me started on Suzuki that just keep spitting out the Suzuki DRZ 400 ( basically unchanged in 20 years ) and Yamaha dropping the WR 250 R a fantastic dual sport - why wasn’t that made into a 500 ? , it’s almost a repeat of the 60,s with the Japanese on UK and European bike now the Chinese are doing that to them . I just don’t like what the Chinese government is that’s my only issue ( if they were a free country I wouldn’t care and be lining up to buy their bikes ) . Anyway love your channel been following you for years, and like you I do prefer smaller now ( for my off road riding anyway) as a wise ADV traveler said once NO ONE ☝️ complains about smaller and lighter JUST BIGGER and HEAVIER. 102 mpg to 107 mpg out of my Meteor 350 for city/ motorway & off road. So yes that's not great from the 450 MT & I've heard that talked about before. The Triumph 400X has much better fuel economy than the 450 MT as you were comparing the 400X loaded up to the 450 MT with nothing but a rider. Not really like for like. Other bike problem with 450 MT is that it has a nice size TFT display however you can't link your phone to it for Google maps, for navigation because the chinese won't pay Google for the right's to use Google maps & make up the interfacing software between google & the TFT display. Cf moto now tied with KTM so hopefully will improve things. Reliability to be tested but I have no concerns. If you prefer Himalayan great. Good to have options.

I had to pay for an independent test to be done, after which I posted on every forum possible. I received an email from India within ten minutes, offering to replace the engine & the Importer ( MotoGB) would do all the leg work. Fair play; they did what they promised, dropped the bike off while I wasn’t at home & when I saw the quality of the crankcase on the new engine I got rid of it straight away! Many people love them, but I’ll never touch an Enfield again. Horses for courses. I’d happily buy a CF Moto. Chinese are well known for poor quality, but when it comes to expensive items, they can match anyone else, they have the ability, you just have to do your homework!

Your spare parts comment is unfounded hyperbole. If world events are so bad that getting spare parts from China is an issue then there is every chance that things are so serious getting them from India or anywhere else will be a problem. Also most likely not that important. CFMoto are a main stream manufacturer now and competing on equal terms with everyone else. As for the rather pretentious, snobbish comment about serious ADV people, take a look on YT for Jarda Sima and see what he has been doing with this brand for the 3 years. Will make you serious ADV types look like you have run down to the shops.
