Hey Todd. Great video. Although there isn't flight experience list, 61.183 eligibility requirements listed a minimum of 15 hours.

That's right, the applicant must log at least 15 hours as pilot in command in the category and class of aircraft that is appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought.

How much you think a intial CFI applicant should know for their ride? Mine is in 29 days and I’m seeing how deep I should now

Cooper Stukel You should know everything that is in the CFI PTS, as well as the private and commercial ACS. That is the minimums for this check ride. If you cannot comfortably talk about each element, within each task, within each area of operation, then it would probably not be a good idea to take this check ride. That is the subjectivity of this check ride as well, because you may find some examiners who would not test to the greatest extent possible, like they are supposed to. Hope this helps.

Todd Shellnutt Thanks! I haven’t taken my commercial since I’m 17, I turn 18 September 21st, which I have commercial and multi engine commercial, CFI the 24th, then CFI/MEI the 27th. I am ready for my commercial ride, just cleaning everything up for the CFI ride. These videos help a ton! All my rides are with the same examiner so looking to blow it out of the water to set the tone.
