Great information that early adopters of the 450 Ibex appreciate. Kudos to CF Moto for doing their best to provide us with the lightweight off road oriented ADV bike with enough power to comfortably cruise on the highway. We've begged for this for decades and the big motorcycle cartel told us to buy their heavy and expensive 800-1300 cc ADV bikes, while they deliberately crippled their small ADV bikes.

You sir, are a true adventurer. Regarding the oil changes, the 10,000km interval on bikes is strictly road use only and there is always a condition in the manual that states hard use demands shorter intervals. The general rule is that for any off road you should halve the intervals. So 5000km is a good interval for most bikes. It's possible CFMoto were considering this when they stated 5000kms.
@cer7cer72 ай бұрын
Watching from the USA. Great video. Informative, concise, and no BS. Your methodology for constructing/ organizing your video content is enjoyable for the viewer. I know you said that this will likely be your last video on this machine; however, it would be interesting to see one that highlights a more dirt oriented/ enduro style (possibly some single track) riding. What I am especially curious about is the 'higher' fender performance and higher fender installation. It would be interesting to see a portion of the video where you (Luke) install the higher fender kit/ package. This way viewers could see what was involved and if it is something they may tackle on their own. Thank you for posting this video. I just subscribed and look forward to future content.
@davidmatthews30932 ай бұрын
Thank you. That was probably the most honest review that I have read. Thank you also for mentioning the gearing… Owner’s pages for the two bikes that I ride are always full of miracle cures, the main one being how changing the front sprocket by one tooth will revolutionise the bike on a fast A road or motorway. As, in my opinion, neither bike was built for that use I presume that they made a big mistake when choosing their new bike and the ‘advice’ they are giving will spoil the performance in the environments where those motorcycles belong, minor roads, hills, gravel tracks and occasionally challenging technical sections as well. I have already noticed that ‘alter the gearing’ has been a hot topic for MT450 owners as well. Good luck with the bike in the future, one of my motorcycles is Chinese, a Voge 300 Rally and it continues to impress me day after day.

How is this not biased ? CFmoto probably sponsored this whole thing
@MotoSnaxАй бұрын
@@burnttoast9890 Well, read the video description. It is a press bike, he does not get sponsored, he does not get paid. He needs to pay CFMOTO for damages (though I think they won't do that because he is positive about the brand). He needs to return the bike after he had done his trip. If CFMOTO would like to do a sponsored trip I'd imagine they would use a channel with more than 5.64k subs for more immediate coverage. I did ride two CFMOTO bikes (450MT and 450CL-C) and I do like them, though I won't say they are better than the Japanese bikes, they are getting closer and closer to it. I do test rides as well on press bikes but I haven't done written reviews about CFMOTO as the importer over here has a bullsh*t deductible if you might crash (full motorcycle price if you crash it good enough). Otherwise I would already have done some (unpaid) written reviews. I rode them at dealerships with lower deductibles, but can't take them with me for longer periods.

Great channel you have created. Only two video's and both really amazing! I hope to see a lot more in the near future. I agree about the electronics in adventure bikes should be at minimum. My horrific experience when i realized the Enfield 450 Himalayan had a ride by wire installed made me very sceptic about it. An adventure bike made for off-road should never stop running because of some electric issues. I even demand a kickstarter, because a bike like that should ride even without a battery.

Great review bro! 10k, and just one thing you didn't mention on the video, the chain: did you replace it before the trip or did you have to during the trip? Looking forward to your series at the end of the year. One final thing, I think you've put me a step closer to getting one. I love my crf250rally, but for long trips it lacks a bit of engine and I had to turn around in some TET sections due to the step incline of the hill, which I think with the 450MT it can be doable.

Excellent review! A minor thing to note is that by changing from a 140/70/18 to 150/70/18 rear tire you have effectively altered gearing. This is approximately equivalent to going from a 47T rear sprocket to 46T rear sprocket.

Great photography and review thank you. I am thinking about buying one, if you can reply, I would appreciate that. I am concerned about the vibrations in 4th gear - Is this an RPM issue? I.e at 7,000 RPM in any gear? Did this just ‘develop’ over the ride? But it has not gone away? I understand you can ignore vibrations as it’s a press bike! Thank you Luke :D
