Nothing to do with the bike, I'm no longer in the market, but the price of panniers is just ridiculous 😮 Break it down to what they are, (bags!) talk about overpriced! Then there's the racking hardware to mount them to the bike which is obviously bike specific. Have they even heard of having a standard? Something like ISOFix 😂 So I bought some semi rigid (but expandable) eBay specials for £30. If they only last a few trips it'd be worth it 😅 Great video again Sean, it's not easy remembering a bunch of stuff to monologue about on video whilst riding. Great bike, but I bet it doesn’t stay in the line up once the CFMOTO 800MT-X starts hitting the showroom floor. It is a far superior bike over the MT. I also think it is priced a little high. I think the sweet spot is $9,500 USD.

The KTM 790 engine has been plagued with problems. Leaks, both oil and water in the short term and cam failures long term. A friend went to the local dealer looking to buy one. They told him that they were more trouble than they're worth and steered him to a BMW. I own a KTM (1290 SAS) but I wouldn't go near the 790/890.

I agree Crumbly, the anti China comments grow less and less even in the last couple of years. MCN are now reporting on Voge, CF and Kove. The little brands are getting there. I’ve only just found your channel. The first vid I came across was your Himalayan 450 and CFMoto 450MT comparison. Great video by the way, even if it didn’t help me make up my mind 😂 I’m currently deciding which of those two bikes to add to my stable. I test rode the MT about three weeks ago but haven’t ridden the Himalayan yet. I prefer the look of the Himalayan but the tech and ability of the MT. I was very very impressed with the MT test ride. The RE will have a tough job to beat it. 🤔 I live on the Algarve and the two main summer months July and August are brutal, (40°c plus), so I don’t tend to use my bikes again until it starts to cool down in September. Full bike gear when it’s over 40° can be at the very least uncomfortable and with any extended rides bringing the risk of heat stroke if not properly hydrated. The summer literally arrived very suddenly about three days after my test ride on the MT, which is why I haven’t got round to test riding the Himalayan yet. I really need to man up and book a test ride so I can order whichever bike I decide on.. 🤗 I see you and Susie have recently been to Portugal, 😀👍 I haven’t had chance to watch those videos yet, (literally just subscribed to your channel), but it is a perfect country for motorcycles.. well apart from the two summer months which are are too hot for me to ride. Anyway, great content and I look forward to watching more of your content.

I think the Enfield and the CF do trade blows, perhaps the CF is better specced and smoother being a twin but the RE will have better resale and support with accessories and parts and so on. Thank you for this review! It was fun and interesting versus some (none of which are yours!) which are dumb and intredasting. ;-) So many Enthusiastic Adventure Types (EAT!) will readily belittle this bike for weight, the cast wheels and more. Given the acronym I created for these sullen sulkers it should come as no surprise that they could stand to lose more weight than the bike. The motorbike carries us, we do not carry the bike. Most people are terribly weak and could stand to exercise but they would rather bitch and moan about things beyond their ability to change all the while stuffing their face. Pffffft! This style/genre of motorbike is the new touring motorbike of choice for a great many people and with good reason. For those that care not for this or other such bikes I have no doubt they wrinkle their piggy little nose up at SUVs. People buy SUVs because the "U" really stands for "Useful". Detractors bemoan the truth that most such vehicles as the 800MT (and SUVs) will never see any off road time. They ride sAdventure bikes. What did Tony Stark say in that first Iron Man film? "This is the FunVee, you're in the HumVee"? If CFMoto and KTM can produce these and sell them at a relatively affordable price point then good for us all! In Great Britain you get a 4 year warranty! HUZZAH!!! That's twice what we get so on that note I am happy for England. The Chinese are like the Japanese were when first they came to our shores. But actually better. My problem is if the company is ChiCom based. Chinese Communists. Some will balk about the very real possibility of "poor resale value". I buy motorcycles to ride and enjoy. I generally keep a bike for at least 10 years. It's not that resale doesn't mean anything to me but that real world value does. By that I mean, is the bike fun, reliable, get good mpg and more?! If it does, that is value enough to me. Nothing holds its value anymore Not BMW. Not HD. Not a thing. Keep your bike for more than a couple of years to get your "money's worth" out of it instead of feeeeling (obviously not thinking) you neeeeeeeeeeeeeed a gnu (yes, "GNU"!) motorcycle when you probably don't. Pat yourself on the back instead of stabbing yourself in the back. Enough common sense. This was an insightful, real world (loaded with common sense!) useful review. Thank you both! SS in commiefornia USA
@MindfulMotorcyclist5 ай бұрын
Great common sense comment. I am believe it or not in the gym writing this reply. I don't want to get to the stage where i struggle to move bikes about so I started back. My pal who never misses a session since 18 he struggled to move a BMW1250GS when in gravel or even slightly off road. That is a very big bike! Yes the way to true value in riding is to not endlessly be sucked into the new bike mentality. I'll of had my secondhand BSA now for a year in September and I intend to keep it for a year after that, I've done a few bike changes in quick succession buying new (low value bikes admittedly) but lost money in part ex each time. No more! As far as the 'commie' threat, Mccartherism is now over or should be. I believe there's bad actors all over the world. I read a book on the politics or war recently and you wouldn't believe how much Churchill, Roosevelt and later Truman negotiated with Stalin and propped up a corrupt and feckless Chiang Ki Shek. 1943 on was essentially dividing up the world according to spheres of influence 😂. Crazy went on and no doubt still does behind the scenes... Thanks for the comment!
