Special Report: Father Hector Bolduc, Defender of the Catholic Tradition

In this special Thanksgiving report Father Terence Finnegan, Tom Summers, and Brian McCall discuss the life and legacy of Father Hector Bolduc. It is important that we never forget the tireless work of the early priests of Tradition who traveled millions of miles to keep the flame of the true Mass burning throughout North America. Father Bolduc established many important priories that flourish today: Dickinson, Texas and St. Mary's, Kansas among them. This interview is filled with fascinating stories about the early days of the Traditional resistance to the New Mass and new doctrine. Father Finnegan shares his personal memories not only of Father Bolduc but also Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. Tom Summers describes the massive research project he undertook to preserve the memory of Father Bolduc's work. @46:20 it brought tears to my eyes to hear Fr. Finnegan's description of what it was like for him to be with Abp. Lefebvre in the seminary at Econe; truly, a saintly shepherd. Deo gratias for the legacy of Fr. Hector Bolduc, Abp. Lefebvre and all the good priests of the FSSPX.

I was also privileged to serve mass at Guilford, New Hampshire and also see that chalice of Saint Pius the 10th and my brother who would also hear sermons in person in Maine from father Hector Bolduc what a beautiful history of keeping the true Catholic faith thank you for this broadcast and I also purchased the book thanks again

Fr. Finnegan mentioned Fr. Gregory A. Post, SSPX (17:55). It was my singular privilege to have been Fr. Post’s driver on calls to shut-ins each Wednesday and Saturday afternoon for approximately 3-1/2 years while he was assigned Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Warners, NY. After abandoning the Carmelite Order, he was the first priest ordained in the U.S. by Abp. Lefebvre He celebrated his 51st year of ordination on the 24th of August this year. Bill Crofut

My husband was the last person to see Father Bolduc alive. He would drive him from DePere to Necedah every Sunday and then back again after our evening Mass. We loved Father and he loved Necedah. He had, years ago, been instrumental in helping to secure a beautiful golden, gem studded crown for Our Lady at the Mediatrix of Peace Shrine. He had purchased a home in Necedah and said that was where he planned to retire. Father was going to stay over that last Sunday and celebrate Mass for us on Monday morning .After Mass, Virgil took him on a sick call in the next town over and then brought him back to the rectory. His plan was "to have bite to eat, read a little, then go to bed and have a good rest". When Virgil found him in the morning (He didn't show up for confessions before Mass which was his custom.) he was lying peacefully in the bed as if he was till asleep. Father was a blessing to us for so many years and then he made sure that when he was gone, we would be cared for by the Society of SSPX, his final blessing for us. God rest his soul.

Didn't Father Hector Bolduc leave the SSPX in 1988, following Bishop Lefebvre's consecrating his four bishops on June 30, 1988 without a papal mandate?

Per the book,he left before and unrelated to the consecration of the 4 bishops. He regretted his decision to leave and also came to believe that the consecrations were justified

We have no good memories of Fr. Buldoc
