Not sure why FSU fans keep saying none of the top four teams would score on them, that they have top tier defense. FSU allowed an average of 16 points a game. To put that in perspective, Oregon allowed 17 points a game, and that includes the two 30+ point games allowed vs Washington. Allowing an average of 16/17 points a game isn't exactly elite, especially if it's in the ACC.

Nobody mentions this anymore, but because Texas and Oklahoma were able to leave the Big 12 a year early, Oklahoma had a scheduled home and away series with Georgia on the schedule to start this year that ended up getting cancelled. Texas going to Alabama and OU hosting Georgia this year would have been huge.

I am sad that there wasn't a Michigan-Washington Rose Bowl, because that is never going to happen again. No more USC vs Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, or Oregon vs Michigan State, or Washington vs Wisconsin. They're all in the same conference now. Where is college football heading, anyway? Two "major" conferences where, for the most part, the final four will be the BIG10 and the SEC? That is basically what we have this year.

Michigan has seen #16Iowa defense on a Neutral field they are a top tier D only. We've seen the #2Ohio St defense fully healthy playing there best football. We went into Happy valley in front of 110k in a white out to play #10 9-0 Penn st and beat them. We will play Bama no problem

I suspect Mike Penix has been playing hurt for the second half of the season, yet he won every game not being at his best. In a biased bama fan, but if bama gets passed Michigan and gets Texas in the title game, I don’t see Saban not being able to get his “underdog” team to show out. Especially in a “revenge” game. I think Texas pulled out all the stops to beat an inexperienced bama team especially with the o line, I don’t see them having that big of adjustments for a second game. Where bama on the other hand is playing way better football then they were and executing fundamentals better and better. Tommy Reese has adjusted to his qb, should be exciting post season. These rankings are based on raw counting stats that don't account for pace of play (slower in the B1G), and level of defense (higher in the B1G). So either way you look at it the game will come down to who is more prepared, who executes better on the a big stage, which coaching staff makes the better adjustments, and which team is able to do other things if their game plan isn't working. All those categories are in Alabama's favor. Michigan is a very senior team but also a senior team that has gotten embarrassed the last two years in the playoffs. It will be a good game but Michigan will learn like Ohio State fans, Notre Dame fans, etc that SEC is just different.

In 2014 Ohio State was in a similar situation, but they obliterated their conference championship opponent 59-0. FSU was the least competitive undefeated power 5 school in a long time.
