Thank you for this! Ashley, I am so touched by the honor you show your father and for the artist you are in your own right. Thank you, Carl and all of you for keeping his memory alive. What a gift: music and you all. 🙏💕🙏

Wow Carl actually sounds somewhat like Glen on this. I have watched this video 50 times or more and I never noticed how much Carl sounds like Glen in the early part of the song.

I never get tired of hearing this song, and Carl & Ashley do a great job. Carl & I are from the same hometown, Louisville, Mississippi, in the east-central part of the state. I graduated high school with his younger sister. At age 14, Carl was touring with the bluegrass act, Jim & Jesse. Five years later he joined Glen Campbell's band, and Glen said that Carl was the best banjo player that the ever saw, and he produced several of Glen's albums. Carl is a prolific songwriter, and top of the line musician, and has worked with many of the biggest names in the music industry. And he's a pretty good singer, too! And beyond all of this, he is just a good, decent, down-home guy. I saw him in our local Walmart several months ago, and had a brief conversation with him. He's still a small-town, country boy at heart.

It’s an easy and beautiful song to sing - however this version is really setting the bar up where Glen first put it. Glen had arguably one of the finest vocal tones ever and Carl is bringing it all back with precision and clarity. To be a phenomenal banjo picker is one thing but to be able to sing a Campbell classic with an equivalent tone is a true gift.

It says a lot about Carl that he was Glen's guitarist when Glen was one of the best ever. And Ashley, so beautiful and a gifted banjoist for sure and then of course there's that voice. Talented lady. Love this version of the song they do so well together. Rest in peace Glen, your legacy is being carried on beautifully!

I was a kid in Traverse City Mi when GA sang there in the late 1960's for the first time. The Cherry Capital Chorus hosted them. It was one of their very first concerts. In 1981, they came back and sang at Interlochen Arts Academy with The Renegades from 1965(?)Championship. CCC taped the show. I have a cassette tape of it. But when my father tenor, Al Galloway died in 2003, I played it over and over to the point that it broke. Not sure if it can be restored. Someone in TC may have the master copy. I might be able to find out who.
