I could watch this over and over - Ferlin Husky - what a funny guy and love Jean. Jim Ed brought me to tears with Johnny Russels song and so cute with Goldie! Sonny's stilory about Johnny was so cute! Love seeing the beautiful Mrs. Duane Allen!! Great Great show! Bill is the ultimate host! Breaks my heart that so many of these great artists are gone. Thank you for sharing g these programs I have not seen before. Hooray for you tube!

I love all the Country Family Reunion. I can’t thank Larry Black and Bill Anderson enough for putting these shows together. I’ve had the privilege of meeting quite a few of the Singers at Concerts in Branson, Pigeon Forge and South Florida Fair. I treasure the pictures I have with so many of them. One is with you Bill Anderson. I’ve been a Country Music Fan for 65 years. Watching Ferlin Husky and Jean Shepherd was so special as I’ve seen them both. Also went to Grand Ole Opry twice.❤️❤️❤️🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸

I had a bad time in 1969 and my dad came to pick me up. All that I wanted to do was to go home. Ferlin Husky had a song out a few years before and I felt better going back home when I heard it. The name of the song is "I Hear Little Rock Calling." I was really homesick for my home town of Little Rock, Arkansas.

It's very sweet for Larry wanting to intrepret the PS. as saying guitar & piano, but in the KGV, these particular instruments are NEVER MENTIONED!!! But they do mention 'the Harp with the Psaltery, both stringed instruments. And then of course SINGING loudly... Oh what a God we have to worship that LOVES MUSIC from the HEART...

@mcvet my brother was in Vietnam,he and his wife had two little toddler children, his wide sent him divorce papers. His commander sent him home to try to get things straightened out. He bought houseful of furniture, got them all set up next door to our parents. When my brother had to go back to Vietnam she called her boyfriend from another state had him come load up everything and move her in with him in the other state! Turned their children against him as they grew up and wouldn't have anything to do with him,he didn't see them til they were way past grown! One wouldn't have anything to do with him much st all ever

My Dad hated the song "Dear John" because he experienced it with my Mother at the time. Though she didn't marry his brother, she had a child by him while he was married to her, and serving over seas. My Dad put that behind him, and didn't divorce my mother. My half brother was adopted, and raised by my grandparents and Dad had to live with that reminder every time we visited them.

All concerned parties should have tried to understand how one thing leads to another and once these things do happen it's a done deal. There is nothing that can change any of it. The knowledge that the child belonged to your dad's brother is for your dad to deal with any way he sees fit, which he has.But as a mother of a child I couldn't keep,, I had to allow her to be adopted. It broke my heart. I think of her often. As the years have passed, I hold on to the hope that the man and the woman who raised her have provided everything to her that I would have not been able to.

I have a question. Why is this great series being edited? I own the DVDs and there’s several things that have been cut from these KZbin uploads, specifically the classic clips from the Opry archives. Is it a copyright issue with Gaylord forcing you to edit it out? No matter what the reason, it’s a darn shame. To me the clips really bring context to the stories that are told throughout the series. Stuff like this is why I’m hesitant to watch these on KZbin nor subscribe to your Country Roads streaming service. I’m holding on to my DVDS. Just to be clear, I absolutely love CFR and what Larry Black has done for country music, but I wish people could actually see the videos as they were when they were originally released.
