Being on my phone, I notice I'm more anxious, feel more stressed and exhausted, body symptoms, and eye symptoms. Listening to someone who talks too fast or music too loud makes my system go crazy. So quiet music, read a book, paint, word search. I have to stop the noise and the movement coming into my eyes. Thanks for this it's a very helpful reminder of why phones are causing too much stimulation.

As a person suffering from insomnia and migraine, I totally, totally agree. The phone is absolutely harmful to my mental well-being. I remembered quitting using it for like a week and I almost immediately felt better. And when I came back to it the symtomps arose again.

Good point about the over-stimulation. There is also a constant feeling of "pressure" to stay productive every waking moment. This might be a reason that long-form podcasts have become so popular. I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts or audiobooks. And I listen to calming background sounds while doing other tasks to remind my nervous system to stay calm.

Daydreaming/visualising your ideal future, places you want to go, or things you want to do and really living in and enjoying that dream is a good alternative.

Got it. I scroll on my phone, watch video on computer, watch television and talk on the telephone simultaneously. Uh oh. I need to slow it down.

Yes, you need to slow down for sure! By slowing down and being more mindful of your digital habits, you create a calmer and more balanced environment that supports your overall well-being. Remember, it's all about finding a healthy rhythm that works for you.

It just happened this week I developed this dull headache almost every evening. Then one day, I tried really hard to limit any screen time and just do physical activity, guess what, that evening I did not have headache. Suggestion for Miguel, if you could speak just a tad slower in your video that will be really appreciated. Long Covid here, with hyper senses and slow brain 😅 sometimes it is quite hard to process what you say even when I already turn down the speed. Thank you so much making these videos 🌻🌻🌻

I'm so glad you brought this up! The overstimulation from screens is worse than a strong cup of coffee and causes difficulty sleeping. Even having the TV in the background and not doing much, the commercials sound like high-pitched screams, it makes me so jittery. lol

I totally agree with you, Miguel. Yes the phone takes away lots of energy and time. There is a tendency to pick up the phone and check messages and videos. Even scrolling the phone makes me feel dizzy. Thanks.

Totally agree! When I first got sick I noticed that my phone was making me more anxious but I ignored the signs. My best days are the days I’m off my phone but that is so hard when I’m in an AP and I just want to distract myself. It definitely makes me not want to do anything else though.

I'm in a cash right now, for 8 days allready. I have diabetes type 1, vestibular neuritis, did not recover yet from covid. One year in and still not able to work. Channels like yours seem like the only way to find help. I'm going to become better, just not know how, will watch the videos❤ I really appreciate them.

Tottaly agree with that. I get sevare headachs if I spend to much time on YT. I implemented little breacks like listening to soft music so my brain can get a rest from the visual stimulation.

I totaly agree with you. In the Last months i was way to much on my Computer. Afterwards I turned on the tv and of course the cell phone. I reduced the times rapidly in this week and i think it helps. 1 Hour Computer. And 2 silent nature docomentaris per day is enough. The cell phone is a little Bit of an harder case…

I have 3 screens at work 5 hours a day, and then I use my phone throughout the day, thank you!

I am guilty of using the screen 8-10 hours a day and at the same I have been stagnating on the physical side. I was actually thinking that screens would be the case and you just confirmed that. You have a really good habit of making videos on excactly where I am in recovery and I am really thankful for that. I will put a 3 hour maximum each day going forward. 🙏 What do you recommend out of reading from a book, reading from your phone or listen to audiobook?

Reading from your phone is the most stimulating, then reading a book would be next, then listening to an audiobook is the least stimulating! Glad you’ve been able to realize this!

Ugh, it makes sense, I can see I am going to have to make a change here. I am on the fone for hours a day...Audio books sound like a far better idea. I find 20 mins of meditation makes me feel less hyped up, afterwards, that's one good thing to calm down the system.

I feel personally attacked lol. And the leg connection is craz @6:33 ! I don't get pain, but do get a restless leg feeling when I've been on too long! I haven't heard anyone else talk about this. Thank you for this vid

Another thing that can stimulate the hyper sensitivity is walking... I did not believe it was possible.. but you can get minor panic attacks through walking more than a few hundred yards.. depending on where you are in the illness maybe ? I only found out as my car was off the road for a month.. I walked into our town for a coffee each day.. it was only half a mile each way... but I got gradually worse ... so I checked it up on the internet and you're anxiety can increase with minor panic attacks through walking.. Maybe it was because I couldn't bear to be in the house with brain fog and do zero.. couldn't take words in from anything

This is eye opening! One of those things that feels so obvious now you've said it but I just didn't realise it for such a long time. If anyone can help - Question: is reading a physical book or a book on kindle over stimulating also? I know you mentioned audiobooks but I often prefer reading

This is so true the sweet spot for me is 4 to 6 hours a day. If i spend 10 hours i sleep so bad and the symptom be super crazy Electricity in My body sleep apnea and more it feels like u going to die and the body wont Come down until the morning

I feel like I was doing relatively well, I became pretty functional, but this past week I had finals, and like a goofball I sacrificed sleep to do well on those finals, totaling 4 hours of sleep over 3 days. I am now experiencing a terrible crash which started with a migraine, and now if I try to get up and do anything I feel faint, weak, and am having heart palpitations and dizziness like crazy :/

There are tons of things that trigger people to get CFS, a viral infection is something that I've seen come up a lot in the last year, especially with Covid and everyone's immune systems being down. They call it post viral chronic fatigue, but as long as the doctors have ruled everything out, and they have treated the virus, and they say you're good to go, all the principles I teach on my channel should work. What happens is the stress from the virus pushes you over your stress threshold, but even after the virus is gone, your body is left in a hyper sensitive state. So essentially, we need to retrain it to shift back to its default ""balanced mode"" so it functions normally again, vs. being stuck in sympathetic overload with tons of neurological symptoms. Totally. I wonder how many "long covid" cases had the j a b s. I bet most. They're super harmful. We only get viruses when our systems are compromised in the place i.e. by poisons.
