My electrical teacher told me one time he was the pilot flying that plane in the intro of the red fisher show on the very first show in that plane. Mr John Rich was his name.

Sad, but true: He was my grandmother's youngest brother, but I only met him a handful of times. He would do winters in Florida and would stop to visit my grandmother in Columbus, OH going to and from Ontario.

It is truly too bad that we can't see any more of the reruns of this show and a big Canadian shame on those responsible for taking away our childhood memories!!!

That's because CFTO would tape over their archives. So fucking cheap! That's why we only have a few clips of the Uncle Bobby show.

The Red Green Show is one of my favourite shows of all time but I want to see and appreciate where they got their inspiration from. It's so sad and unfortunate you can't find this show anywhere

Retrontario it would be nice if you posted as to "why" we can't see reruns of the red fisher show, why not give us Canadians the reason someone doesn't Air the show for fans who remember it so well!!

Not sure what you mean? This is the *only* clip I have found, and of course I put it online to share. If I ever find more, I would share them too....

I would think televised reruns would have to make money. How much sponsorship would be sold? Would it be worthwhile to run a Red Fisher rerun late at night instead of an infomercial? The latter may bring in more revenue. There is always the murky issue of rights, which can often be a lot more confusing than we'd think. Just a shout out to Retrontario in thanks for this and all the other wonderful videos. The fantastic shows that came out of places like CFTO and CHCH were known to every kid across the country.

It probably doesn't exist in the archives at all. Most Canadian shows up to the late '80s were either taped over or just thrown away by the TV stations. The ones that survive (I'm thinking Littlest Hobo for example) are exceptions to the rule.

I never realized this is a real TV show until today 40 years later...I just thought it was a John Candy parody stupid me most of their stuff was based on real things ...mierda! Murican...course we might say poop In the south. In the day in the South we would never have seen this...we did see SCRV though we did have stupid fishing shows either syndicated or on PBS I never watched them...weekend filler that aired when fishin musicians were actually fishin or musicianing. Just lemme tell you once you start learning a second language as an adult and really get into it it fouls up your primary language and you don't speak either good no more...you start to get confused about your sin tax. Sorry, syntax.

there is a weird gap in understanding between generations where we pick themes our parents knew without knowing the source. I instantly knew Red Green looked like something old (it wasn't, at the time) but for the life of me couldn't tell you what.
