Update 5.201 was released today, bringing in the CG-4A Glider. It's quite an interesting and odd plane choice, but definitely unique considering the fact that it's not in War Thunder or DCS.

They made an historical mistake about the troops and pilots. They used their 3D models of paratroopers used as troops in their C-47. Problem is that paratroopers weren't in glider. It was Glider Infantry, who had almost the same look of US standard infantry regiment. We understand of course why they made the error, reuse the models

I think this is a really interesting thing to introduce to the game and I'm sure it was born of developing some technology or other, but it's so unbelievably niche that I don't see that much purpose for it in the game

Awesome, thanks for the video,i hadn't played the game in like 6 months due to some life commitments and my rudder pedals had gone bad and when i opened them up they literally exploded with parts all over the place so i had to get some video help putting them back together, ha ha ha. Funny how i played this game (the old il2) for a decade without rudder pedals then after i bought them now i cant play without them,lol,since doing the latest update a couple of days ago i found out about the glider,that ruler mode on the map, how long has that been on there? i dont recall seeing that but i saw a thread on the forum from April last year where it was mentioned, maybe i missed it and just didn't see it while playing? I really like that, comes in handy when flying back and you need direction.

Is there a "spoiler control?" My Father would say that he used the spoiler control to drop quickly but still had enough airspeed and lift to reach his designated field. Something about dropping below flack during Operation Varsity (March 24th).

That’s probably a waste of time dude. Il2 can’t support hundreds of b17s in formation. It’s just not possible. And planes like the b17 (strategic bombers) were only used in mass. And flew huge distances. Why do you think it’s possible to implement this? It’s not even worthwhile.

Yes, as the player, you have complete control over the towing plane's movement in flight. You control it like any other plane (but of course with limitations because it's a glider and you're hooked up to another plane). But if you're in playing SP, you go where the AI takes you. However, in MP, you can have a friend fly the C-47 while you fly the glider. You can even make C-47 crash after takeoff by diving down and forcing the C-47 into a stall 😂

Sup,@@nickkyboy99! I just got the glider, and when I try to start with in in the Quick-Mission Builder it spawns me with an enemy C-47 that doesn't do anything (at least when I spawn on the runway). How did you make this work? By using mission-editor?
