You were kind of right with the cgc comics. What was more likely done is they were damaging the cases of high graded comics slipping in lower grades and having cgc reholder them. They weren’t cracking them open then directly reselling them to customers. You can’t open a cgc case without damaging it. They were getting reholdered and cgc failed to notice the switch.

I like the point you made that CGC doesn’t do anything to resolve their mistakes. Having used a number of different grading companies, service is so important bcuz stuff gets damaged. And it’s not like they’re making the slabs themselves, it’s plastic so shit can be defective sometimes. We’ll see if they change their slabs and offer to reslab their older AND newer defective slabs for free. And eat the cost of shipping. That would be the right thing to do.

My issue with PSA has to do with vintage. I sent a base set charizard in, got a psa 6. Sent it it BGS, got an 8, which is what I though it should have gotten. I opened a pack fresh fossil Kabutops, got a PSA 6, should be an 8. I sent it in to get graded at BGS. There is 0 chance it will still grade a 6. These 2 examples, once proved, will show me that vintage with PSA cant be trusted. I might even try to cross grade 1 grade higher than bgs gives it to see what PSA does... could be fun.

The card doesn’t look that bad. They pretty much just use a point scale like they used too. Same as bgs. The corners grade is docked .5 for each white spot. But the other subgrades are good. I could see this being a cgc 9.5 mint+ because the centering I think should be a 9 also. Bgs would score the corners a 9 100% but the centering would absolutely be a 9 or 8.5. Cgc used to be strict on centering but they’re so obviously not anymore. I see pristine cards hitting the market now that are way off. Whoever graded this just chose the company that the card had the best chance of scoring high at.

With PKs video quality its hard to take his word of mouth on the slab reseal thing im sure there a bunch of micro fractures and other things on the slab that give a clear sign of tampering. Also lack of High Res scans after the expriment shows the lack of interity coming from PK. It means he probably knows there is clear tampering damage but too much of PSA suck up to admit it. At the end of the day all grading companies are shady and shit even PSA lmaooo.

I think it was a publicity grade, which is par for the course for cards which are so limited in their availability. There is no actual realizable negative impact to the average collector because not only are these grail cards far outside the realizable/ practical budget of the average collector. They are so limited in quantity that the average collector will also very likely never encounter it. What i'm trying to say, is the general public really isnt ask, its the absolute highest tiers of collectors that have to worry about this, and i'm sure this cert and when these high teir collectors trade or buy in their private auctions, sales, or trades, its up to them to buy the card, not the grade. Also the publicity grade, if thats what it was, is working, because there are tons of videos being made about the wrong grade. & because its actual realizable negative impact is negligible, and since all the top collectors who could possibly be impacted by this are aware of how these publicity grades go down, i'm sure all the points mentiones about whitening will be brought up if it ever goes for private sale or trade. Also the newer CGC slabs appear to have better tamper proofing. The edges will actually frost up if you try to crack or heat it. Watched a few videos of people demonstrating attempted tampering on the new CGC slabs, and honestly I felt less worried after. Perhaps there is still room for concern on older slabs and certs because they may not have the same tamper proofing as the new slabs. & based on their length of existence there are more opportunities for swapping to occur as the slab changes owners. With each owner presenting the opportunity to be a bad actor. Enjoy your content, I know my comment was a little more in defense of CGC then your video was, but I dont mean that as a slight towards you any way. I just wanted to put another point of view or perspective into the eaether.

@@pokephil420 I just watched the Pokemon Knowledge video, it appears the ink from the label releases a carbon smudge on the label and case when heated up, which would be a strong indication of tampering imo. Also it wasn't shown on 4k so it was difficult to see if there was any frosting. I watched a video by Dagreenshiz Collectibles where he opens the new slabs and it appeared pretty difficult to open the slabs without evidence of tampering.

@@pokephil420 I always imagined ink would heat before resin due to the typical metallic contents, so in theory it would be unavoidable in an oven to heat the resin before the ink. Perhaps a low temp localized heat gun with persistence and patience would work, thought the boiling threshold between the slab and resin could be too close. I watched all the videos from Pokemon Knowledge, and he didn't actually produce an open slab that looked completely unaltered. In fact he basically explains how he damaged it every step of the way no matter what he did. He even used razor blades, which to me would be a clear sign of tampering in person. Also no 4K resolution was shown, so I'm unable to accurately determine the extent of the damage without seeing it in person.
