Zarah's reflections at 2:07, about the people of Värmland, where she is also from: "I’ve realised that the people of Värmland are an astonishing kind… because they are a bit bonkers, all of them. Think of Fröding, Selma Lagerlöf, Ferlin (famous Swedish authors/poets, from this region). - And then, mixing in the enchantment from the backwoods of Värmland… I do think, and I hope no one is offended by me saying this, that the Värmlanders are a most interesting and peculiar people. Everyone from Värmland, all of us, has an artistic vein of some kind… it’s strange. And then an incredible optimism and joie de vivre, mixed with the deepest depression - there is nothing lukewarm/dispassionate about the Värmlanders."

Swedes in general are pretty conformist, but people in some provinces are individualists: Värmland, Bohuslän, Skåne, some parts of northern Norrland and Göteborg/Gothenburg city come to mind.

The tune of this song was actually used in different variants in different songs over the time. You should look at "La Mantovana", "Die Moldau", "Carul Cu Boi" or the isreali national anthem. It's interesting how music developes.

@@piroschka6 It's interested how anthems were created over the time. You should also check out "Stal se jesem" (German anthem) or "To Anecreon in Haven" (U.S. anthem).

Dear Pjotor, I agree with you that this is a performance with real soul and undoubtedly better than Jussi's. The bla, bla, bla is Zarah reflecting on the particular character of people from the province of Värmland. It's a shame they didn't add subtitles because it is very interesting if you understand what she is saying.
