The real reason is laziness. If Kasumi joined during this arc they would need to make another keyframe animation after you finished the palace.

@@eriol33 yes there are so many animated cutscenes which they would have to add kasumi in or re do to make the composition better. I wish they did that tho since it is another 60 euro game with a bunch of dlc

It's because it's super dangerous. It'd have been super irresponsible to bring a newbie into the group when they're going up against the guy that's out for their heads and any mistake will result in their deaths, it's certainly nice that she wants to help, but considering she hasn't played a part in what got them into such shit, it wasn't her fight.

The thing is, she'd need to have been in range or at least have known the codewords to get in. They didn't hear anyone enter the cafe when they would have left to the metaverse so it's unlikely she got inside the cafe at all. Not to mention, Kasumi was never told their target, and even if she knew Sae was the target, she'd need two more codewords to get in herself. Her "I followed you" excuse has a lot of holes. It's not explained well at all.

@@anorlondo4665 She wasn't inside the cafe. Best chance was she was nearby or hugging one of the walls, which may have not been close enough considering they were upstairs, and she wasn't aware of when they were going in since she couldn't see anything. And if she entered at the same time, she would still be close enough to the group for them to have noticed her entry since that's what happened with Ann initially. It doesn't aadd up, they wrote themselves into a corner by making Kasumi appear during the escape at all.

@@Kiri68419 the whole metaverse transition seems to have a pretty wide range or at the very least wider than you think. Remember when they activated it at Okumura's? Akechi wasn't really close either but he was still able to notice the change in cognition. Also, they didn't enter Sae's palace from the cafe, they were in fact near the courthouse so there's obviously tons of place for her blend in. Personally, i think you're overthinking on the rules if entering a palace since there never really was a clear understanding of them.

@@MuhammadIrfan-oe5su Akechi was actually somewhat close. And chances are he didn't actually get sucked in (that being he saw them vanish then made up a lie to tell them). One theory is that someone has to be aware of what's going on to be sucked in which is what prevented others from entering when they had the second hideout in public, but you'd still have to be a little close. And They went to the courthouse at the START. I'm pretty sure when they go to steal the treasure (aka the day Kasumi is aware of), they LEAVE FROM THE ATTIC. Even if Kasumi was aware of something, there's no way she could have known when they're going in. At best, she'd be sitting outside somewhere. And if Sojiro wasn't aware or even in proximity, then how was Kasumi?
