In my opinion, the meaning of this short film is that scientists and researchers of science, after much effort and obtaining a scientific result, provide it to those in power. Many of these scientists lose their lives during their research, and those in power Once they get the result, they throw them away like garbage

Actually, let me explain .. Quran book explaines after all people died then god will recreate them again so they go out from their graves, everyone come to meet the god with his book which contain his story in his life, the good and bad things he done , can you imagine EVERYTHING he did will be written in the book, then god will segregate people as their books, the good and bad things will be put in scale to be weighed, as the heaver things will determine if the person will go to heaven or hill .. Please search for Quran and read it to know more and more.. it is the truth.

@Mighty Mightor Quran does not speak about Mohamed itself, he speaks about the previous porphets before him, and then explaine that Mohamed is the last one come with Quran with no change and distortion in this book. Moreover, Quran not speak about 6 half billion but is speak about before sky created and how many skys. Read this ( It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded? ). Read Quran and you will know your purpose in this short life. My interpretation is that it is about the modern system, you study hard, accumulate experience, and finally you put all that to serve a company that uses you to accumulate its fortune. It only see on you "the machine part" (one eye) Once you are over, the system throws you and waits for other devoted people who will spend all their lives to serve the system again and again.

@Bob Pearce see I'm talking about boundation. I really don't want to be bounded and I'm not directly but indirectly I'm been forced to be bounded by these systems. As if you talk of school life I'm bounded by my parents to attend school, I'm bounded by teachers to act this or that way. Now do I have any option to get off this boundation, no i don't have. But if rather than wasting my 20-23 years of studying in school and College if I would have been asked to act my own. I would have spent it happily the way I wanted and when I would have look back to those days, a smile would come to my face, but whenever we do something in boundation and when we remember it we end up regretting it and always think "maybe I would have done that or this so i would not be facing this."

I think this short is about making your mark. When they were going up the hill, and one of them fell. S/he wasn't strong enough to make his/mark on the world. So his/book was never read. The other trudged forward not letting the failure of others stop him/her. Once at the top of the hill, there was heavy wind. Signifying even at the top of the hill, you will still get resistance and push back. So once the creature finally made it to the keeper (the thing with one eye) one was chosen (s/he and it's book) were put on the shelf. The other was shaken off the book and thrown back into the hole that made him/her start all over. Even if you do make it through all the trials, you might be rejected and have to start all over again. But it's just a theory! 😊

You don't chose a book for how much work went into it. A book catches your interest, there's something in the story that is worth the effort to read it. The "Choser" (god?) picked from the available stories only a couple. And the black hole need not represent death. It could be the path to reincarnation. The next scene is of the same (?) little guy with a book on his back. Is his story interesting or original enough this time to allow him respite from the wheel of life? It's very simple. Just think of all the effort in writing a book (or any art work). Massive. Even from the start you already get resistance. Then the judgement comes when the product is finally in the audience's hands. Lucky if they even glanced at them. Luckier if they even read it, and best if they keep it and appreciated. All efforts unnoticed. Just like in the making of this film. I can only imagine all the efforts put into it. The graphics and all, real investment of talent, time and efforts, yet (as of this posting) one audience in 10 take the effort to dislike it.

I think it's about teachers. Each person carrying their book would be a subject representing a teacher. On the journey of teachers to really "reach" the student and transmit knowledge, some "give up" along the way, and others even reaching the students are not selected by them. And in the end the "student" takes the information he wants and discards the one who taught him.

The individual disappears permanently, but the Source feeds on his memory in order to grow in consciousness and to evolve. This would be the meaning of life : growth in consciousness of the Whole. And indeed, from the point of view of the individual, this may seem to have a cynical and unappealing side...

What this animation means to me is as follows... Each and everyone of us carry a story of which we hope to one day share with others. Each story is different with each one ranging from fiction to non-fiction - Reality and Fantasy. The stories are never the same and yet at one point or another, a similar story has been told. To ensure the story we hold dear is authentic in it's creation and captivating for the targeted audience; we openly seek criticism from our readers that we so hope to entice with what we offer for entertainment. In this case, the readers are the single being (The Keeper) that evaluates our stories, judges their worth, and then decides as a whole weather what we offer up is worth a read or not. Those who are chosen, earn their place along side other great Author's who's stories have lasted through the ages while those who are judged and found wanting must start over in creating a story that they think will be better than their last. This to me is true devotion.

Todos leemos un libro en la vida, ese libro el cual esta con nosotros en todo el trayecto de la vida, pero al leer muchos libros crecemos y empezamos a querer leer más y más es un ciclo sin fin. Algunos libros pereceran en ese camino. Es conceptual. Tambien es una critica a la sobre producción de libros y a la tala indiscriminada de arboles (materia prima para hacer un libro). Devotion was a very insightful short animated film artfully reflecting the journey to the after life and the possibilities of where you end up. The symbolism of each person rising from the earth... symbolizes the ascent from the grave...to begin one’s pilgrimage to the gates of the creator to be judged on your book of life’s work. Some individuals have books that are heavy with misdeeds and burdened with sin so they collapse under the weight and end up in purgatory. For those individuals with the spiritual fitness to carry on to the mountain top, they are afforded the opportunity of judgment. After reading through their book of life The creator passes judgment on them, deciding who gets to stay and who gets dropped back down on earth to be reincarnated and write another Book of life, or even worse, caste down to the hell fires... if you are reincarnated , hopefuly this time they will be more “DEVOTED” to Spiritual and Godly matters of the wold and write a better book. “DEVOTION” to your higher power and living your life the way God would want you too, is the only way to insure that you will not be cast down to hell and your book will be shelved forever .... DEVOTION to God and faith is the only way to transcend like Angle white sheets of feather paper into the clouds of heaven.... DEVOTION to spiritual principles, don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t steal, don’t use people or mislead them.. be an honest, good, kind, descent human being. live your life the way god would want you too. No one is perfect so when you are wrong make an honest and sincere apology and put forth tremendous effort not to do that behavior again..... write a good book filled with happiness and joy... be part of the solution in the world, not part of the problem. For those of you who took the time to read this comment, you probably think I’m crazy... but just think about it.... what are you DEVOTED to!!!
