The 37-year-old Asian elephant Kaavan, known as the "loneliest elephant in the world," has moved from a zoo in Pakistan to the Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary. In this video, Kaavan's caretaker and Sanctuary spokesperson Pedro Vella talks about how Kaavan was transferred from Pakistan to Cambodia and his new happy life.

A sad story with a beautiful ending. Kaavan is such a handsome elephant and looks happy and healthy. I hope one day other elephants will join him, since they like family bonds and communication. No one should be alone, not even an elephant. Thank you to each and every one of the people who saved this handsome boy and have made his life livable and happy. ❤🐘

I've followed the story for years. It's so good to see him happy and healthy. He looked awful in that barren jail cell at the zoo. Now he looks robust and his skin looks healthy and you can tell he eats good food, gets normal stimulation from his environment and feels secure. It's a wonderful story that just never should have been needed. But it is joyful to see him in a wonderful home, loving his life!
