Allergies are ranked as the 4th most common chronic illness worldwide by the WHO. Nearly 30% of the world's population suffers from allergies and by 2050, 50% of the population is likely to be affected.
Dust mites are the main cause of respiratory allergies. Dust mite allergies most often manifest as rhinitis or asthma, but can also cause discomforts such as frequent sneezing or fatigue. Sensitivity usually occurs when the concentration of dust mites reaches around 100 per gram of dust. Yet, half of people’s homes exceed this sensitivity threshold value. Taking preventive action, for example by stopping their proliferation in our homes, is becoming a necessity.
