茶の湯指物：山田 一彦（号・山田 嘉丙）／ tea ceremony sashimono：KAZUHIKO YAMADA(KAHEI YAMADA) ― 東京の伝統工芸

指物（さしもの）とは、物差しで寸法を測ることを「差す」「指す」ということから転じて板の寸法を測り、棒と板とをしっかり組み合わせ、箱や器などの精巧な木工品を作る技術をいいます。江戸における指物は木地を生かした素朴な作風が特徴です。

Sashimono is a technique that uses a ruler to measure dimensions, measures the dimensions of boards, firmly joins the sticks and boards, and creates intricate wooden products such as boxes and containers. In the Edo period, joinery was characterized by a simple style that made the most of the wood grain.
