Château de la Grifferaie

For our midweek video we show the complete two day renovation of the master bedroom walk in closet. Since Rob and Leslie live at the chateau full time now, it was time to build a proper closet. Also some roast beef, herbs, and a discussion on an idea for "Junior College Abroad".

Your wild plant is a shining cranesbill. Look for tall stems with a small red flower in spring. It is a plant of the genus Geranium. It doesn't have stingers 💚

Leslie...you should do a Le Grifferaie Cookbook...with your favourite, France-inspired recipes that you prepare for yourselves and for the groups of students you host. I bet lots would buy an e-cookbook. Just some "food for thought" (pun intended ;) )

Wonderful idea about Junior College Abroad. Simply wonderful! Being in another country , perhaps learning the language! My niece did her Jr. and Sr. In Paris. She was blessed to just be loved and absorbed in a family with four children. The eldest did his Jr. and Sr, year high school in Iceland, of all places. So she stayed with the same family. Education you get abroad changes your life forever!!! Everything in your world opens up and makes all thing possible!! She graduates this Spring from Kings College. Oh yes completely fluent in French 😅 Anything you do to educate, to teach, to expand young minds is amazing. I say go for it!!!!😊😅

Great to see this project come together. You both deserve it. Great use of space. to use space underneath, you could use cookie sheets or some kind of tray to store shoes and pull out as needed. You could glue baseboard front with knob to make pull out easier. Good for off season shoes, slippers, flip flops. And great above the closet storage for off season bedding, luggage, etc. Hurray!

The University in our city has adult education classes that attract a lot of retirees. I think many folks at that end of age spectrum would have the time and some finances to be able to devote to in-depth study.

Such a nice look into your week! My niece spent some time in France in Collage. It was in a small town with a host family. The next year my Sisters family all went back for a vacation and they visited the host family. Now my niece is finishing her Masters in Ireland. So many great things to do for our young people. All of it was in the budget for her education. Please have a great week ahead!

Suggestion. Go up to the ceiling in the closet! Put off season clothing up there. I keep a step ladder in my closet and utilize the space at the top.

Your wife is amazing! My opinion...I'd clean the walls, strip the wallpaper, patch holes, fresh paint, clean the petite chandelier then add the shelving. It would really be "finished" that way. Yes it would take more than one day but you wouldn't need to go back and refinish it. Just my OP.

I do love seeing and hearing the pheasants! Wish I could help on that plant that smells like Cilantro. The foliage looks like a type of true geranium (not what is commonly called geranium, grown in pots, which is properly called pelargonium, but at least it is a relative of geranium), and some things in that family have some really strong smells. Like the one called Herb Robert. So, possibly it is a species of wild geranium. If the leaves are fleshy, then probably it's a cousin to ranunculus, that's the other thing it makes me think of.

I'm wondering if your plant by the rose is Glechoma Hederacea Stock? Looking through, and thought it looked similar. The closet is amazing with so much more usable space! The roast and veggie dinner made my mouth water! So thankful the Lord blessed you with that wonderful van, already filling everyday needs! The sunsets, the woods, the pheasants, what a beautiful place! Love and greetings from WallaWalla!

Hey guys. It’s so wonderful to follow your journey. I’m sure that the Lord will take you forward so no need to worry about expanding so big. God is able! 😊 we’ve already witnessed it in your journey. My worry ( yep I worry too Rob) is how to get income coming year round. You can’t have guests when it’s cold. But it would be a good time to maybe offer some little classes on things like different prophets, the judges, and whatever you’re inspired to teach. And it would be so nice to look forward to a study in whatever Rob wants. Wherever the Lord leads. I don’t know where it leads but I’d enjoy it. Maybe charge a small amount or do it through patreons or something. But first, get that electric bill under control. That’s a very important. Things are really looking great inside the Chateau and the roof is amazing. 😮 enjoy it all. ❤

Would you consider a junior style college, allowing young adults eg 18 plus, the opportunity to be introduced to mainland Europe/travel/youth activities within a safe environment such as yours, enabling them to gain independence, meeting others, but possibly not focused on the religious beliefs (I understand thats key to you) but for others possibly not.
