It's been a while since I've watched any of your videos, but one thing thing that you impress upon me is that you appeal through your earnest honesty, with a good dose of the "fun, goofy uncle and sweet auntie" vibe. I hope that you can listen to my comments, which aren't meant to offend, but you may need to hear them. I'm tired of hearing that families are the bedrock of society. Day in and day out, it seems like churches, governments, and conservative pundits have locked their gun sights on blaming, shaming, and marginalizing those of us who do not come from the traditional, nuclear, sanctioned form of family that gets paraded around as the ideal. I challenge you to host a ten couple convergence of thinkers and problem solvers on what to do with the fallout when traditional family systems fail the people they claim to produce and expellfor whatever religious or moral law that draws a line of where Christian Charity ends and hypocrisy begins. Children like myself, who grew up in single parent households are waiting for adults to get a clue about how they have failed us, and orphans have more than double the problems and damage to contend with. Please, as a couple enjoying marriage as you do, consider other work for God's Kingdom.

Your father was a very wise man and gave you some good advice. May not have been appreciated back in your youth but now, it is evident you appreciate it so much more! Good memories too. Love when you play piano! Such a good idea to put screens on the windows! I know for myself, living in a Chateau, I could not have open windows and wonder why most Chatelains choose not to put in screens. Perhaps to do with originality? I am such a fuss pot, don't like bugs.. lol Thx for sharing your journey with us. As a new subsciber, I will be binge watching all your old vlogs to get caught up! Sending love to you both from Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦

I don't believe you are looking for reward but doing what God has requested of all of us, " Let people know about Jesus. " This is why I support your channel. Without KZbin, we wouldn't be able to reach out or know you were there. I love the thought that we can help you reach young people , who will reach others in their lifetime to find Jesus. They are also creating those so important lifelong friends and contacts who will make it possible for them to succeed. You are providing this for them with great memories. I don't need reward for that in heaven for helping you reach this goal. I wish I could do more. It is just an extra way to help you get the word out. Jesus didn't say who and where you should reach others, just get it done. Time could be short, we don't know when he will return. I am too old to travel that far, so I am glad you have your health and enjoy what you and Leslie can accomplish. I believe God wants you to have joy in your work, even if it is in mowing the lawn. Thanks for making knowing more about Jesus important for these young people.

I wear sandals year round. It snows here in the winter. I may add socks occasionally, I still have my feet and toes. Even wore my sandals on MT. Hood in the snow😂. Wasn't any snow in the valley when we returned. Great job tuning the piano. It is hard to find people who will even do that as a profession in this day and age.

Thanks for your honesty regarding the comments. People just don’t understand the enormous job and responsibility it is to renovate/remodel/take care of a chateau. And what you are doing is to provide a safe and wonderful place for students to further their faith walk with Jesus. 👍🏻🙏 The wedding was beautiful! And yes…a lot of work. I had no idea that they went so long…😴. Rob, how is it that a big, burly guy like you plays the piano sooooo beautifully!!! AND you don’t have the music in front of you!!! 😳 I took 3 years of piano lessons and can’t play anything from memory and if you gave me sheet music…I would be 😳. If you stopped at 15…..how can you play so well??? Did you keep “practicing?” My oldest son took 5 yrs of “keyboard” lessons and did really well (better than I did) but wouldn’t put forth the effort to practice and frankly wanted to quit. So I’m thinking why should we pay for lessons if his heart isn’t in it. Anyway…beautiful music! The screens are a godsend I bet. I have always wondered why I haven’t seen any screens in the chateau channels I watch. Is it a European thing not to have screens on windows? The birds and bats coming in would drive me crazy…🤪 Glad you solved your problem. Oh and the food presentations never disappoint. 😋👍🏻🍷🥰💙🐶🙏

Hi Rob! I think you say everything just right and with lots of good afore thought. Romans 14:4 says we are not to judge another man’s servant. God knows your heart Rob and none of us should question shat God asks you to do. Jesus did many good works in public. The closet he was talking about was not being boastful. I do not see you as being boastful. I see you as being a good example to the rest of us in using our resources to be a blessing to others. I also feel that our rewards from God are sacred and not to be known by us until eternity. Blessings to you both as you do your best in serving the Lord.

Loved you tuning the piano Rob! Was really interesting to watch! Such a joy that your Dad made you learn the piano. Yes! He was right. Love your journey and know we have your back. What a wonderful life experience everyone who comes to the chateau. They will never forget their wonderful time because you honestly care. Isn’t it wonderful that you both developed an array of gifts and talents that have come together so wonderfully in this adventure you are both on. Bravo!

From a Christian standpoint, I was SHOCKED to see that with the demonic display at the Olympics, you still chose to support it by not only watching it on tv but you also supported them by attending? 🤷 The opening ceremony proves that our time here is very short and its imperative to try and reach out to the unbelievers that Christ is real and that they need a saviour and not partake in pagan worship! I am so disappointed bc I enjoyed watching fellow Canadians move abroad and I wanted to support you but I'm sorry, imo leaders (pastors) of the faith should not support this kind of evil! I wish you well but I don't feel that I should continue to subscribe to your channel for this reason! I am so disappointed 😭

Hi Rob and Leslie, love watching your videos. You are both doing a fantastic job of building up the Château. Leslie is doing a super job in cordinating the colors with all the rest. The hard work of having young adults from both Canada and the US come for studies abroad is such a great idea and will impact so many for the rest of their lives. You are both so honest, so genuine, God bless you and give you real joy in doing what you are doing. Caroline, our daughter, who is a flight attendant with West Jet, now a mother of three beautiful children, of which the youngest, Tara, is 18, sang in your Dad's choir when she was in high school in Briercrest. We lived on campus from 1985 to 1990 when we moved to Calgary. We knew your grandfather, a dear godly man and we knew your parents. A great musician and so glad you got the lessons you did and can now play that beautiful piano. Glad you finally got it and for a descent price !! Emilie and I are very much agreed that what you and Leslie are doing is great. It's a lot of hard work and you doing so well in doing it. We love France and are so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord for the time we did. We will never be the same and we keep praying for France and her people. God bless you richly, Henry, for us

I remember you folks well. And of course I sang in the same choir and small ensemble with Caroline back in the day:) I have thought of you guys often here in France. And also in retrospect what it must have been like for your daughter to move from here to the plains of SK. Culture shock for sure:) Our French neigbours have been wonderful to us, and we are a part of a good French Church. Still need to improve our language skills:)

Hearing Rob talvez about some coments people leave here got me to make my own: Only ourselves and Jesus know were we step ouro feet. You may have an opinion, a perception, but you do not know exactly how is someone's life. And mainly: not everything is on te internet!!! It's just a cutout that someone chooses to show! Stop thinking you know everything about someone else's life. Anyway, love watching your videos and all you do for a better world. Following you guys all the way from Brazil! ❤

As busy as you are, and you still take time to read and respond to comments! That's good. But don't become immune to wise suggestions. I did ER work at downtown/acute care teaching hospitals for a dozen years, so the tips about safety I'm going to say are worth heeding--my own primary care physician fell off the roof of his house and no longer can practice medicine because of his resulting disabilities. I have seen too much to be apathetic. But at least you don't seem to be accident prone!

Rob, I wanted to comment on a comment you made at the end about not letting the left-hand not know what the right hand is doing or letting the left hand know with the right hands doing, you and Leslie are doing great things to bring young people to Christ and make disciples out of them to send out to the world. In a way you’re preaching, teaching to others is a blessing. Don’t feel because it’s You Tube that there are no rewards. Look at these mega churches and see how many have their KZbin channels. Keep up the good work and let God do the sorting.

I won't get into any deep theology, today. GODincidence about Matthew 6...feature of my Bible study 8/11. My wife started watching at the beginning (2020), when we heard The Messiah as your theme music. The SPIRIT appreciates your piano hymns. Maybe superimpose the words, as the SPIRIT compels me to sing, but I don't have enough time to get my hymnals out. Oh, and a little more JESUS, and a lot less German "whatever".

May want to pick a few younger trees (not suckers) in each woodland and let them grow. Those large trees are old and will come down in storms. The younger ones can the shoot up into the gap. Uneven age management. I’m sure there’s a metaphor there.

Hey Rob, great job with the screen. That’s a wonderful adaptation to French window systems. It’s really great that you read all your comments and whether you take some with a grain of salt or others with more seriousness you can tell you use these comments to grow your perspective. I give you a lot of credit because some people just want to be too negative and that’s tough to read on a larger scale like KZbin. It was very nice of you to open your château for those people to have their wedding and we completely understand what you were going through trying to make it ready for them even though they did a lot of work themselves. Also great job with the chainsaw in clearing all of that brush. I think it’s important to work within your comfort zone and only you know what that is.

I absolutely enjoy your videos. I follow 5 chateau renovation channels and each has its appeal for me. But with you, I enjoy your humbleness and also your chats. Inspiring Christian talks are always welcome. Thank you for sharing! Oh, and would you consider playing Rock of Ages sometime? We had an old upright piano in our dining room and I have happy memories of hearing Mom playing her favorite hymns. I would be about a block away on my way home from school and the sounds of her playing would fill the air. Just a lovely memory and I still hold the old hymns near and dear. Thank you.

Great is thy faithfulness, is a favorite. SO.... Next time you're going to mow, Start with playing, "In the Garden", its a long reminder, he walks with me & talks with me. I will share, I had a great uncle who was a Japanese POW during WWII, He was a garden attended in the POW Camp in Manchuria, He sang, "In the Garden" while working, long story short, the Japanese Guards would request he sing the Walkie Talkie song. We never know when or how the lord will witness, but its an amazing story he lived to tell family following his freeing by the Russians. Yes, the Russians. Thank you for playing for us.

The piano sounds wonderful. Bravo on taking on the tuning. Not for the faint of heart, in my opinion. A marriage retreat sounds like a wonderful idea. But how about something for women who have no partner, or are widowed. I would guess that you could get some interest in that, as well.

Hey, have you thought about doing some sort of fundraiser (or merch) to get funds to hire some people to sort the forest out completely so it's easier for you to maintain? I was thinking then you might ask people to pray for funds for a local to come in 3 days a week to do all the outside maintenance work so you can focus on other areas. Just a thought.

Getting a house or yard ready for a party is WORK! of course, it’s stuff you should have done, but an event puts a whole note special spin on it! Then after the event, you look at your clean house or great yard and you feel so good about the work you did & how nice it looks! I get it!❤
